Went to Indianola for the BB King Homecoming Festival and our group ended up across the street at the Blue Biscuit after the show. The place was packed but we managed to get a table in the backroom, adjacent to the main room, and we set down for a bite. We had heard good things about the BBQ so we all decided on BBQ sandwiches. As soon as the food arrived it was pretty obvious we were in rare territory as far as BBQ is concerned. I grew up on BBQ and consider myself a BBQ connoisseur and I would put the Biscuit's BBQ in the top 2 or 3 of any restaurant I've ever been to. It's the kind of barbeque that you WILL NOT FORGET. I'm honestly not certain if it was they way it was cooked or the sauce, but something about that combo resonated BIG TIME with our group. Although we really weren't in the mood for a desert, our server told us we "had to try the Beignets" so we obliged. A sincere thank you to the waitress, as we were then treated to a sweet delta delicacy known as "Delta Beignets". These things are soooo good (if you like sweets) and we're the perfect ending to a great meal. The building is unique to say the least, almost like an old house that's been redone with old signs and antique furniture. The place is kind of small, but plenty of room for a good crowd to jam out and have a good time. Overall, we had a blast at the festival and at "the Biscuit" and would definitely recommend it if you're heading to the Mississippi Delta.
