“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

I enjoyed visiting the B.B. King Museum, it was a pleasant surprise. I had little expectations, but I learned a lot about the different time periods. I hope to see B.B. King around the Lafayette, LA area in the near future. The restaurant and bar next door was also a pleasant surprise.

“Worth going even if you're not a fan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Went to the BB King museum on Monday 28/1/13. Museum was actually closed but they kindly open for us since we came all the way from Australia. It was definitely worth it. Apart from the obvious tale of BB King's life and music, it was also fascinating to learn about living in the Missisipi and in Memphis in his time. Really well done and worth the trip out there.

“BB's story & Civil Rights - Great museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

If all museums were like this, you'd never hear people thinking museums are boring. It tells the story of BB King alongside the story of the struggle for civil rights and some history of the mississippi delta. It is very informative and very modern. There are all sorts of displays: memorabilia, audio, videos, and cool interactive stuff. We had about 2 hours to visit before closing and we surely could have spent more time around had we arrived earlier. I bet if this museum was set in a bigger city it would be a major attraction. On this same trip we saw many museums like the Rock n Soul in Memphis or the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale; and, in my memory, this one tops them all.

“Thoroughly informative walk through the Delta's history at the BB King Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

The B.B. King Museum in Indianola, MS is a must-see for every child of the Delta and anyone wishing to get into the sounds, sights, history and emotions of the civil rights movement and the simultaneous development of the tremendous career of the King of Blues. With a dedicated staff, the museum has two informative videos at the beginning and end of the self-guided tour, coupled with numerous exhibits, video narratives and displays about B.B.'s childhood, early years in the Mississippi Delta, his move to Memphis and his skyrocketing career that now has its place in history. You will be amazed and surprised at the quality, depth and pure entertainment value of every stage of the great life of a great musician. The museum and its Delta Interpretive Center is accessed through an entrance that also leads to the original cotton gin where B.B. worked in his much younger years. Allow at least an hour or two to see the entire museum and center.

“Fantastic Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

This place is definately worth a visit, we spent about 3 hours in there and I learned so much. The Museum is very modern using a lot of digital technology and the staff were extremely friendly. If you are visiting Indianola or just passing through this place is a definate must.
