I am not certain about a few of the criticisms leveled against this place. I think the few criticisms must have come from people that have never been to a real cue joint. Don't expect more than a wood structure and don't look for fine China. First of all, and I keep saying this about Mississippi, I had nothing but genuine hospitality from the workers. Leatha and her daughter were both friendly and clearly take pride in their ability to cook, serve, and that you have a genuine good experience. They are very sweet people. Second of all, the food is really that good. I got the slab of pork ribs and the only barbecue that I can think of that compares to it in terms of taste would be Arthur Bryant's (KC) burnt end sandwiches. However, once you add in the sides-the potatoes and baked beans, I think that it was the best meal that I have ever had at a barbecue joint. I don't even like baked beans normally, but these were so good I almost asked for a side to take back with me. This was more than worth the 1 hour and forty five minute drive from Jackson to get these. Watch it as you may have trouble finding it. It is behind an old hotel, you won't see the building from the road, so I had to search around for a few minutes behind several buildings before I stumbled across it. By the way, this is a dry restaurant so get the Sweet Tea!
