“Sunday brunch only ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Went for late Sunday Brunch, open til 3 pm, good. Ordered mushroom soup and Eggs Benedict. Soup was served bairly above room temperature and egg in Eggs Benedict was hard boiled not poatched, way overcooked no soft yellow at all. The waitress came by and asked if everything was ok and I nicely told her that I had to be honest and it was bad. She seemed a little shocked, smiled, and walked away. About 15 minutes later she came back and asked i I wanted other eggs and by that time we were finished.
I have worked in restaurant management and usually people say things are ok when they are not. I think management should know when there is a problem.
Bad things: poor attention to food detail, cold soup and overcooked eggs are signs of just getting it out in the kitchen.
The good things: Brunch til 3 pm on Sunday, nice. Very nice building, location, and ambiance.
I will go back and give them another shot.

“Consistently Inconsistent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I have eaten here about 12 times since moving to the 'burg. The downtown historic warehouse feel is great -- exposed brick walls, local artwork and pottery, open kitchen concept all work to make this a special occasion place with a casual chic vibe. The menu always sounds good and sometimes it tastes good, too but the quality is nothing you can rely on. Weekday lunch specials are a good value and usually well executed. Appetizers are very iffy. The scallops were very good last night ( although they sometimes way overlook them) as was the lamb chop which was perfectly cooked med rare. However, The highly recommended quail with oyster cornbread dressing was tough with a stale out of the box taste. The pecan crusted redfish suffered from the stale nut crust and the tasteless and practically raw sweet potato side dish . Although this was a birthday dinner we were sufficiently disappointed with our overall meal to opt out of dessert.
Usually the wait staff here is excellent and go the extra mile with recommendations and with service for special occasions or diners on tight schedules. Our server last night was perfectly nice but despite the lack of customers and our special occasion he didn't really put out a lot of effort except for an apology when a dish came out late. On the other hand the server at the next table -- also a birthday celebration -- did seem to be putting forth a good effort for his customers.

Will I eat here again? Yeah cause the options are limited. Would I recommend it? Only with the caveat not to expect a great meal every time.

“very good food - unfortunately couldn't enjoy the deck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

great food, great service, reasonably priced ... unfortunately a bunch of cigar smokers took over the outdoor balcony and we had to move indoors to get away from the putrid smell ... but since tobacco still rules down south, not much you can do
