“Great Food & Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012 via mobile

While spending a few days in Gulfport, we asked the locals where we should try for lunch. The Blow Fly was an excellent choice. Very good menu with numerous local favored choices. Pasta was great as was the catfish and shrimp plate. The blue plate specials are a great deal and the fried chicken (Wed) was great. The banana pudding, included, was a nice finishing touch.

“It was a disapointment this round”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

I was there 2 years ago, and it was much better than this trip. I am not sure what happened in the meantime, but the food quality was MUCH worse.

Prices were still good, but I probably won't go back. It sure wasn't DDD quality from when Guy went there

“This is worth your time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We have eaten here MANY times and consider it the first stop on any trip to Gulfport. They got some award winning options that's for sure. Catfish po-boy is "to die for" and another good choice is the gumbo. We never miss getting the fried green tomato.

“Good fresh seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We had a party of 7 during the Cruisin the Coast event and thought this was far enough out of the way to be able to get in for dinner without a big wait. Apparrently lots of others thought the same. We had a really good meal. The food was all good. The waitress was overwhelmed by the crowd and forgot our salads, but they compensated by giving us a wonderful banana pudding after dinner. I think they did the best they could with a small restaurant and the huge crowd they had. All in all, I would go back. It is pricey, but so is everyone on the coast if you want decent food. The only negative was the mixed drinks and they weren't up to par.
