“Southern hospitality at its best!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

My daughter and I had a little GNO weekend at Greenwood,Ms recently and stayed 3 nights at the Alluvian Hotel and also took a Viking Cooking Show. We had a great time at both places. The hotel was wonderful!! The staff were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was yummy. Rooms very clean, beds comfortable. This was the second trip for my daughter and my first time. Definitely on my list of places to visit again!

Room Tip: No pool at hotel

What a hidden surprise in lovely Greenwood, MS. This boutique hotel is well worth the drive. It is so well decorated and comfortable with a most inviting and accomodating staff. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are immaculate. It is a true step back into the Ole South with the most wonderful hospitality and amenities. A great weekend getaway and breakfast is included in the room cost.

I travel quite a lot and The Alluvian ranks as one of the best hotels I have experienced. Everything is perfect . The staff is as accommodating and helpful as possible. Rooms are spotless with great beds and bedding. The bar with Josh mixing drinks is worth the trip alone, not to mention Giardina's Restaurant and the Spa.

I travel a lot. By my last count, this is hotel #500+. A such, I don't have time for writing reviews. The exceptions to that, are when a hotel (or restaurant) is particularly bad; or, in this case, particularly good.

Everything about this hotel was excellent. The staff (everywhere!, and everyone!), was as friendly and helpful as humanly possible. I have never before witnessed so many hotel staff members (at the breakfast buffet, in the bar, at the restaurant, at check-in and check-out, house-keeping....) go out of their way to make sure that everything was as we wished.

The room itself was very clean. The air conditioning was quiet and worked perfectly. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower was immense -- and included (my favorite) mint shampoo. Nice touch. The bed was super plush, the nice-sized TV had plenty of station choices, the room included (free) Keurig coffee, and had a well-stocked mini-bar, snacks, and other accessories (like spare razor, toothbrush, etc.).

The exercise room had a decent choice of treadmill, stair-step, recumbent bike, weights.... and TVs on each (except on the weights, of course).

The breakfast buffet was one of the best and most extensive I've seen (considering that it is included with the rate). It had a good variety of both hot and cold choices, and there were several staff-members constantly running around re-stocking, cleaning up, and making sure that everyone had everything that they needed. Some people enjoyed their meal inside; we ate outside on the veranda.

The bar was great, and the staff was attentive. The restaurant was excellent and the food even better. Depending on when you go, however (if there are events in town at the time), make sure you have reservations ahead of time. They took us as walk-ins, but we were lucky because of a cancellation.

Parking was free and located right out the back door of the hotel. Several people offered to take my bags, from and to the car, and even to bring my car around from the back to the front door when checking out. I appreciated the thought, but it really was only few extra feet. :)

I found absolutely nothing to complain about with this hotel, and will stay nowhere else when in Greenwood.

This is a great, high class hotel (5 Diamond) in a small rural town in Mississippi. Accommodations were impeccable. Staff went out of their way to "serve" their guests......always with a smile and a "thank you". This hotel was a very big, pleasant surprise.

Room Tip: All rooms are far above average. There are no "bad" ones.
