“New Hotel - Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

If you have ever been to Greenville, MS, you know that the hotel selections are few. Booked this Hampton after reading reviews and found it to be consistent with the Hampton brand. The hotel was new, clean, and the staff was very pleasant. Internet is free, so that is always a plus. The prices were a bit higher than I am used to paying for Hampton, but from a supply and deman standpoint, that would be true of any small town. The only negative, which was out of the hotel;s control, was all of the water had a slightly yellowish hue. Doesn't give you a warm and fuzzy about drinking water in the City of Greenville,
Overall, the hotel stay was great.

Room Tip: Near Walmart and the Mall

I travel a great deal for work and have stayed at various five star hotels across the country. Although this is not a five star hotel, its given a four star rating because the property was located in a safe location (especially important when you are a female), the hotel staff was polite and helpful, and our room/facility was clean. Down side: Room safe and lounge (eat/drinking) were amenities listed on the website and guest book but are not offered at this location. It would be nice for location to consider serving a light menu that includes cocktails as an option for travelers who do not wish to hop back into their car to find a place to have dinner.

I would recommend this hotel and will stay there again. FSW

If you stay at Hamptons, then you will know what to expect, and this will not disappoint.

Parking is good, but it is a little distant from eating places.

Breakfast as ever

Business lounge efficient

Service friendly

My decision to stay here was due soley to Ms Belvis the breakfast hostess. I actually met her in the afternoon when I dropped by the hotel to use the WiFi......her shift was just ending and before walking out the door she invited me to stay and enjoy breakfast with her the next morning. I had business to do in town that afternoon and was actually thinking of driving to another town for the night but I just couldn't turn down Ms Belvis and returned to the hotel that evening. The night staff was excellent, the service great and the rooms/beds were good. The next time I have to be in Greenville over night, I'll be staying here at the Hampton.

One of the best Hampton Inn's in the chain! Check-in was efficient. Free cookies too (although Doubletree has them beat by FAR on this). Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was your standard Hampton product. Taste and variety not that great in my opinion, but it was up to Hampton Inn standards. However, Ms. Bevis (the breakfast hostess) was an absolute delight. She greets everyone with a smile, and tells them what she has for breakfast that day. She keeps the area immaculately clean, and tries to visit everyone at their table to wish them well and see how she can be of help. At the end of our breakfast, she even brought over boxes of breath mints for everyone. I have NEVER experienced such hospitality at ANY Hampton Inn before. She truly makes a difference! Hampton Inns should consider sending her around the country to train others in such hospitality. If this Hampton Inn would deliver the morning newspaper to your door instead of making you come down to the lobby to get it, it would be perfect! I did think it was a little expensive for such a town, but the other nice hotels in town command similar rates.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, we had to make a trip back to Greenville. First was in 2007, 2009 and now 2012 and have stayed here each time. We are originally from Greenville and it is a pleasure to know there is a nice place to stay. Each time front desk staff were cordial, beds were comfortable & no problem checking in or out. They were kind enough to allow late check-out.

If you have to travel to this city, this is the hotel to stay. My sister and I stayed at another local hotel the night before and were scared. We made reservations to stay at the Hampton the next day. I am rather fond of the Hilton properties and search for them whenever I travel. I like their properties because you are guaranteed room satisfaction. I believe that when I travel I should have a clean, comfortable, secure room, and a comfortable bed.
Guest services were great. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm "southern hospitality" smile. When I walked in the lady behind the desk responded as though she knew who I was (never stayed at this hotel before). We did have a minor problem with the toilet upon arrival, but the front desk immediately attended to the matter. I left the building for a short period of time and when I returned the problem was fixed.
We chose the handicapped room...the room was very spacious and clean. The bathtub had many bars to help assist my sister, who I was traveling with.
The breakfast area was clean and had a good variety of food and drinks to choose from. The lady attending this area was extremely friendly. I watched her console a guest who was there to attend a funeral of a loved one. She took quite well to my sister to the point that she gave her a Christmas card prior to her leaving. This hotel was a very pleasant experience; however, I do think it's a little pricey for Greenville, but. . .
This was my sister's first time staying at this hotel, she now says this will be her hotel of choice whenever in this area.
