We stayed here for a while unfortunately and it is by far the worst extended stay hotel I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in a LOT of them). The front desk "personel" did the absolute minimum and I guess this goes for the housekeeping too because it was disgusting. When they came around to clean rooms all I ever saw was them standing by their carts, yakking and smoking and giving me rude looks. The carpet was actually STICKY (like, my SOCKS stuck to it), the refrigerators were those mini kind that never get cold enough (plus, for extended stays you need a larger refrigerator or you can't freeze ANYTHING), the bathroom, headboards, and even the table and chairs had splashes and stains on the PAPERTHIN walls, and the beds were just abominable both in quality and cleanliness. You could hear neighboring room's conversations, kitchen noises, and TVs. We also made the mistake of checking out the pool, which looked like it hadn't been cleaned for days, plus was just....filthy. When we exchanged our towels (you have to bring your soiled towels all the way down to the desk to get a new set, but they left out the floor mat and the washcloths for the second set). Furthermore, we were told we would renew week to week starting on ONE day, but were actually locked out of our room because the staff said we had to renew two days earlier (scam?). There ARE cops living on the premises, so it felt pretty safe, but it was still very noisy with over-crowded rooms filled with boisterous people every night. Also, read the fine print---they say "data port in every room"--but not wireless, and they DON'T provide a cable. We had to go buy a data cable. But that didn't work for two computers in the room so we had to go buy a wireless router, install it, and use that. Plus, they seem to have bandwidth enough only for one person at a time on the internet (or, everybody's downloading huge porn files), because the connection was limited or nonexistent after about 5 PM most nights. It was nice that they provided a tenny tiny dish soap (no sponge) but that was the sole amenity. Parking was ample and the location next to the waffle house and sonic and gas stations was convenient, but if you can afford the 15 bucks a day more, I'd stay at the D'Iberville Suburban (they have big refrigerators AND wireless)...or somewhere else entirely. If you MUST stay here, bring your own pillows, towels, sponges, paper towels, sheets, clorox wipes, wireless router, hazmat cleaning suit, and PLENTY of socks. Gross. Just...gross.
