“delux villa stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

Very old, not clean, badly maintained and very expensive ($130pn) - and this was the"delux" villa!! The common areas looked OK and the camping facilities are also OK - it is a big complex.

Room Tip: For camping /motorhomes etc it is OK, but for accommodation - no!

Hi David R, thank you for your review. We apologise that your stay with us was not up to standard. The room you stayed in is usually used on a long-term basis, and as we were extremely busy at the time of your stay, we were forced to use these chalets. However there is no excuse if the chalet was not clean, and we apologise and thank you for taking the time to let us know.

We checked into this caravan park and were staying in number 17 basic cabin. Cobwebbs all over the front veranda, table had not been cleaned in months. Inside we found the bathroom vanity had a hold in it and there was a cockaroach living in it the size of my big toe which we killed and showed the staff the next day! Discusting! Carpet had tears in it, curtains were mouldy - need I go on. However the bed had clean linen and the staff were very good. We did complain only to have the owner send someone to tell us that we could have a discount of 10% - what an insult!
Park is close to Fremantle, beach is horrible down the road and not easy to get to. You would be better off staying with Coogee Beach Caravan Park and being a bit further out for a better stay!

Room Tip: Have a look in the room before you pay!

We stayed for 2 nights on a powered site. The site was a good size, amenities are great: very clean bathrooms and a nice camp kitchen and barbecue area. The location of the site is great, about a half hour walk into Fremantle (buses don't run in the evening in weekends), and a 15 minute walk to a swimming beach. The "run down" area mentioned in prior reviews on the way to the beach is now developed, so much easier access to the beach. I would definitely stay there again, but maybe try a spot on the other side of the campsite (we were in P12), as you can hear the Fremantle Coldstores aircon running. The noise is background though, doesn't keep you from your sleep.

Stayed 2 days at Fremantle Village and loved the ensuite site(ensuite bathroom beside powered site). Surroundings very clean and quiet. The bathroom was newly renovated. Variety of options for different accomodation needs from chalets to unpowered camp site. Walking distance to take free shuttle to Freemantle and near supermarket. After -Office check in was served by their staff . Internet access available with a fee.
Would certainly stay there if we visit Fremantle again!

I stayed here for one night while in Fremantle for study. The Chalet Deluxe is an A frame building with a Queen bed downstairs and 2 singles on a mezzanine floor accessed by a ladder. The Queen bed was very comfortable. At $135/night it compares well to other accommodation in Fremantle. A plus is that there is room for two cars in the driveway.

The cleanliness of the unit was not too bad with the exception of the bed cover that had some (dirt type) stains on it and the carpet near the door that needs a steam clean. The unit has a gas cook top, fridge and microwave. The flatscreen TV has all the digital channels. A minor inconvenience was the lack of powerpoints in the living area to plug a laptop in, but unplugging the bedside light fixed that.

Over all though a good experience with good service and I would consider it for a comfy holiday stay.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

stayed 2 nights in july 2011 in an A framed apartment. Liked the cabins which were modern and made good use of space. The cabins are open plan but with a set of twin beds set in the loft living area is maximised. Location is handy being a 1 km walk to the beach and only a 5 minute drive to Fremantle CBD. Courtesy bus to Rottnest is a bonus.
