“Good stay”

My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend away . The staff was friendly and were quick to respond to any request we had. The hotel is close to everything. The rooms could be a bit cleaner, but overall it was a good stay.

The Staff and Management of the Wingate says "Thank you" for your fantastic review of our property. We are happy you felt like you were a part of our extended family. I do apologize that the 4th floor ice machine was not working during your stay and that has been taken care of. It is our goal that all of our guests feel like they are VIP's and I am happy to hear we met that goal. Your suggestion regarding the in-room safes is appreciated and has been shared with the staff. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you visit the D'Iberville/Biloxi area.

Thank you for your kind words about our staff and overall tidiness of our facility. I was disappointed to hear that your room was not up to our normal standards. I aplogize that the sink was missed in your room and will address this with our housekeeping staff. It is comments from our guests that allow us to correct issues when the occur so they do not happen again. I appreciate you bringing the matter to our attention and hope you will give us another try the next time you visit the area.

“In the Middle of Good”

The Wingate promises a great stay. The lobby and breakfast are are nicely done. The entire property is fairly new. The staff are very friendly, and cleanliness is the rule.

The rooms, however, may be a bit disappointing. Mine was quite small, but clean. The beds were second-quality, with cheap mattresses that were too soft. Furnishings were in good repair, but just beginning to show a little age.

The swimming pool is outside, making it unusable during the coldest months, and at the time of this writing, the hot tub, which is indoors, was signed 'out of order'.

This hotel is conveniently located close to many restaurants and a big Wal-Mart. There is also a movie theater just down the road.

As an overnite stop, I'd say the Wingate is acceptable, but not great.
