If you get to Abe's before noon, you can sample the heavenly homemade biscuits made by Abe's wife. I declined the gravy and was offered some incredible berry jam to put on it. As a northerner, I normally order tea unsweetened, and add a little sugar. Abe's sweet tea served in a canning jar was just right--not syrupy sweet like a lot of places. Sandwiches are all classic diner material with a few unusual ones like scrambled eggs with pig brains! Food is served fast and is cheap. Rave reviews by all on the chocolate chip cookies. I haven't had a corn dog since I was a teenager (a long time ago!) but the homemade cornmeal surrounding the dog, and a local encouraging me, got me to get one. Not my favorite thing, but the corn batter was fresh and tasty.
Fries are awesome, especially with Abe's secret spice.
