We arrived in Clarksdale early and was able to get an early check-in. Lobby was nice and clean and front desk person was friendly. arrived in room to find there was no microwave and there were screws sticking out of the counter where it should have been. Called front desk and within minutes a microwave as placed in the room. The bathroom for was filthy especially behind the door. Unfortunately this is the BEST hotel Clarksdale has to offer. But definetly a rip off

To be honest with you I'm not sure if this property deserves to be in the 'Choice Hotels' group of properties. At $76.29 (including tax) I would have to say it is over priced for what it is. But, what the heck if you're here to soak up some blues and what have you it's not like you'll be in the room all that much (which by the way would probably give you the blues if you were)...If you are going to be in room for a while...may want to have a look around and see if there's another option you may prefer.

  • Liked — Pretty much 'Leaving'.
  • Disliked — Not up to 'Comfort Inn's' usual standards.

I am a travel nurse and my agency booked the Comfort Inn in Clarksdale, MS. I stayed in two different rooms over a six month period of time. The first room that i stayed in for 13 weeks was quiet, neat, but there were water stains on the ceiling and mold on the window sill. The halls were cluttered due to work being done on the rooms during my stay. The laundry room was hot and sweaty. The ice machine was broken the entire 13 weeks I was in this room. The construction crew would take up an entire row of parking near the entrance doors and would prop the side doors open. No pressure in the shower. The toilet did not flush properly. There was a desk clerk named Angela that was very pleasant and helpful.
The second room after two weeks away, had ants, waterstains on the ceiling, mold on the window sills, mold and dirt on the air conditioner. The nice friendly desk clerk no longer worked there. I was there for 13 weeks and rarely had the staff make up my room, but when they did they did not change the sheets, they would make up the bed with dirty sheets, which makes one wonder if they just folded the bath towels or actually replaced them. The halls again were clutter due to repairs on rooms. The staff would slam doors in the night and early morning. The outside door would not open from the outside due to malfunction of the key slot.

  • Liked — Close to the hospital and to WalMart.
  • Disliked — Dirty, moldy, noisy.

We stayed at this Comfort Inn last year for the Blues Festival. I will not say there again. I was could not breath because of the bug spray in the room. I found a used condom in the trash and another used one in the towels. The front girl at the desk (Indian) did not help. I was very upset. In general the hotel is dirty and smells like bug spray.

  • Liked — near to the Blues Festival
  • Disliked — got sick from the insect spray in the room

My Wife & I planned our own holiday visiting Nashville, Memphis, Clarksdale, Natchez & New Orleans. Using TripAdvisor as a review guide we opted for the Comfort Inn in Clarksdale. We arrived at the hotel after a short trip from Memphis & was welcomed by Dorethy at reception. She was very helpful with providing us with information about the Ground Zero Blues Club & Madidi restaurant in downtown. We stayed for 2 nights but it should have been 1 night as Clarksdale shuts on a Sunday. There are no taxis after 6pm on a Saturday so we had to drive to Madidis & the Blues club because, although the website says that downtown is only 5 minutes away, thats by car. Pam, the evening receptionist, did offer to pick us up after she finished at 11pm, bless her! So I drank coke & sprite in one of the best blues clubs I'd ever been in. We have no compliants about the hotel but 1 night in Clarksdale is enough!!

Highly recommended!! The hotel is not new but it looked it. It is a very clean and quiet hotel close to the centre of town. We asked where Ground Zero Blues club was and the guy on the desk immediately pulled out written directions from a file. Excellent breakfast.
