We came to Clarksdale for the music side of things.
Our first stop was the Delta Blues Museum, we picked up a map from there which had everything else that we needed on it. Ground Zero is open during the day, and although we called by, we didn't go inside.
We spent late afternoon round the pool trying to cool down in the scorching heat, there was also a Dollar General next to the hotel, which was ideal for stocking up and not having to drive out somewhere.
The only downside to the hotel is that there is no lift, so you have to lug your cases upstairs and through a really heavy fire door.
We went into a couple more museums/music shops and on the recommendations of the locals we decided to go to Reds Bar instead of Ground Zero that night.
The downtown area is spreading further and further and so unless you drove down to where the bars are you need a taxi, thankfully the receptionist found us the number of a local taxi man, Jerry and we booked him for 6.30pm, now unlike taxi's in the UK, he was on time !!!!
We ate at the Stone Pony Pizza Place, which was nice.
Reds had a local band on, and it is a place you have to experience !!!
We then arranged for Jerry to pick us back up at Reds Bar later that night, and true to his word, he was there on time again !!!
We also went to the Crossroads, and like others have mentioned, they are not factually where they should be, so going off facts, we couldn't find them, but the tourist map we'd picked up at the museum put us on the right track !!
All in all a good and interesting place.
