I stayed in The office shack. It is pretty seperate from the rest. It had a great swing in the front yard. I loved the swing. Just know when you stay in The Office shack people looking to check and didn't read the website instruction will think your shack is THE OFFICE to check in. This is fine if you want to talk and meet other guests. And you should They come from all over the world and it is interesting conversation.
The trucks started moving at about 7 am, so expect to be woken up if you are a light sleeper. The location is good. Only a little over an hour from Memphis. All the employees were nice. I have recommended Shack Up to quite a few people, who like it a bit more rustic. I do not. It was novel for me. It gave me a chance to get some peace and quiet and not do alot of running around.

Room Tip: I thought the cabin was very clean considering it is a shack. But, they are shacks with lots of lit...

They are right - the Peabody they ain't - they are BETTER !
A friend told me about the Shack Up Inn several years ago. I now make it a point to alter my travel plans so that every trip I take south of the Mason Dixon line includes at least a one night stay here. If you don't fall in love with the Shack Up Inn, you do belong in the Peabody. I have "done" both the a shack and a bin - loved 'em both.

Room Tip: Whatever they have available. It doesn't matter, each and every room is unique. Hell, try 'e...

Stayed here in early Oct 2012 with my mom after reading about it in "Road Trip America"; what a find! This place is awesome from the many different types of "shacks" (they're not really, to my mind, shacks at all) to the laid back vibe. There are a number of shacks, some original sharecropper structures from years past, others new but made to look old; there are also rooms in the cotton gin (which is the name of a cotton machine but also the large barn-like structure that houses it) some with balconies; we stayed in "the Office" which is one of the first shacks you pass and a little less private but with a lot of charm; inside there were all sorts of vintage knick knacks from police radios to typewriter to old file cabinets - it's like something out of Sanford & Son -- would have loved to stay another day in an area of the country where the way of life is so markedly different from the rest of the country. Also has a great gift shop!

Two Brits tayed here after reading Trip Advisor reviews. Didn't find the same joy as previous reviewers. Stayed in the main building and in a shack. Main building room was okay but apart from the corrugated iron walls and roof found it to be pretty average accomodation. The shack was more interesting because of its history but not that comfortable or clean. Also didn't get the 'warm, friendly, helpful' service/welcome, just a cursory indication of room. Enjoyed Clarkdale and the Blues scene and the Mississipi Blues Trail but if returned would think twice about staying here again.

Room Tip: Difficult to choose a particular Shack and rooms in main building okay but would suggest upstairs.

Changed my itinerary just so I could stary here and am so happy I did! The place has so much character! The shacks are clean with modern facilities but without ruining the atmosphere of the true old south!

We were there during the King Biscuit Blues Festival, like almost everyone else who stayed there. We were treated so kindly by the staff and they really were very accommodating. They make their clients feel like it's their home to roam around.

We can't stop talking about it, and about our next trip there!

Room Tip: Rooms in the Cotton Gin have TV. The Shacks have DVD Blues TV.

Definitely worth a visit if you like to collect nice memories. I took over 50 good pictures here. One of a kind, great value, respect! We had a tight schedule and could stay for only one night. Should have known better...
