Entered the room and notice that it smelled and was hot, we cranked up the air conditioning and left for a couple of hours. When we returned the room was still hot and the toilet rocked, the drawer on the dresser was falling apart. Went to the front desk and requested another room and was given one.
We changed rooms... air conditioning worked fine. We showered and went to bed. Since everyone went to the use the restroom in the first room, it was during the night when we discovered the first problem. The toilet seat was hanging on with only 1 screw upon further investigation the seat looked as if it was older than dirt, it was discolored and the plastic spacers were all crushed and broken.
Upon rising for the morning, I ran my hand across a nasty feeling stain. It looked like someone had spilled milk or ice cream on the blanket. I don't even want to think of what else it could have been. The room could have been cleaned a little better. Notice alot of places with dust and dirt build up, insect wings in the sink area.
I requested a discount immediately upon checking out and begin to tell the management of the problems and he apologized and told me that it would be checked out. As he handed me the ticket to sign I asked where was my discount and he asked me how much I was willing to pay... I said $50 bucks out of the $65 I was being charged. He told me,"You wouldn't get that rate in New York City."
Since it was Sunday and I was on my way to church, I left politely. I will be contacting the main office of Days Inn and if possible voice a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
