we found the Isle casino and hotel to be in a big state of flux due to it's recent acquisition by the Golden Nugget. There is much to be done to repair the run-down appearance of both the exterior and interior of the hotel. There is outdoor construction maintenance going on that restricts parking to a nearby garage and forcing guest to walk a bridge to the actual hotel entrance. The checkin process was okay but not snappy. The room was clean and comfortable, but the furniture is old and worn. This would not be seen in a good 3 star caliber hotel. Very satisfactory, but not elegant. The buffet food and service is very poor in comparison with the other casino hotels in the area. The booths are old and worn and have the upholstery torn. This is unsightly and quite unacceptable for a respectable establishment. The staff appears unmotivated and possibly dispirited in the way they talk to you and only perform minimal tasks. Not much service with a smile here. The casino is unattractive and not at all put together in a general sway as other casinos are. This place is not much fun to gamble in compared with other casino floors like the Hard Rock, beau Rivage (best in Biloxi) or across the street at the Palace casino. The outlook is optimistic in that a major established casino empire like the Golden Nugget would not tolerate the condition or operation that is the Isle Casino today.
