We have stayed at Imperial Palace lots of times, and truly enjoys it always. Staff are nice and courteous. We have never had any problems. It is a wonderful place to stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at the IP because of the price of $49.00 a night through Hotels. That should of clued me in. The room itself was dated. The bed had a hard as a rock cheap mattress and they spray the room with a deodorant that leaves you breathless. I could not make myself walk on the carpet with bare feet. The curtains had stains all over them. The walls are paper thin you can hear everything coming from the other rooms. After a long travel day, I went to my room at 1:30 a.m. There were three rooms across from me that had their doors open and you could hear the very loud rap music coming from one of the three rooms. The people were having a out in the hallway party. I called the front desk who said they would send security. After an hour passes I called again. The person I talked to said they would move me. She stated this hotel does reunions and there are three at the hotel this weekend. I told her why should I move? They need to control their guest. In the meantime the room next to me was accepting the girls from the party one after a another if you know what I mean. Finally at 5:30 am it stopped. But I was awoken by rap music again at 8:30 a.m. At this time I was ready to get out and go to the Beau Rivage. I called Hotels and I could not get a refund for the next night. I will never pre pay for a hotel again. Later that day around 2:30 pm it all started again. I desperately needed a nap running on three hours of sleep. I called the front desk again and ask to talk to a manager. They sent security. Nothing happened. I called back at 3:30 pm and I got the family reunion excuse again. I went down to the front desk and found a supervisor she moved me to another floor. The room was just as bad as far as dated etc. but is was a much quieter floor. You can still hear people talking through the walls. The food was horrible too. The buffet was worse than hospital food. If you want an excellent buffet go the Beau Rivage. If you stay at the IP take your own sheets and sleeping pills. I could of handled the appearance and not so clean room if I did not get all around poor customer service, the noise, and the bad food. I will never stay there again and I advise the same for others.
Just got back from our 5 day 4 night trip to Biloxi Mississippi, we stayed at the Imperial Palace ..
We went there on a bus trip which was quite reasonable.. Because of the rate we thought that we would not get a very good room, but to our surprise everyone got a wonderful room, with a wonderful view,.... The pool was VERY nice, in fact even alot nicer than some hotels in las vegas..
The staff was WONDERFUL ( dont know why some people complained about them when reading some of their comments) We had 40 people on this trip and no one had any complaints about the Imperial Palace except for the Buffet Breakfast, the eggs had to be made from rubber and not a very good choice on the menu.. The Lunch and Dinner made up for their Breakfast Buffet.................................
The Hotel is not new so dont expect the rooms to be very modern, but they are clean, quiet, and spacious..
If you want a good buy but not alot of frill by all means stay at the Imperial Palace, glad that we did...
Now I know why the Beau Rivage is always booked. We decided to go with the Imperial Palacen assuming that this was a nice place to stay but we were in for a surprise. First, it's located on the bay side of Biloxi, not the nicest place in the city. When we arrived, all seemed to go well during check-in but to our surprise, our 2 double bed became a 1 king sized bed. They offered a roll-away but if you're staying for about $100 per night, a roll away was not going to do. So I went back to the desk where another check-in employee rudely told me "no - we're all booked so you might as well take the roll away bed". I insisted that I speak with the manager and after getting the "roll of the eyes" treatment, the manager clicked away on her computer keyboard and walked away without saying a word to me. "Ah ha...seems we do have a double bed but it's smoking". So we proceeded to take the room - big big mistake and was greeted to the 15th floor also known as "ash tray alley" The stale cigarette smoke in the hallway was a great indication to our crappy room. Voila, we opened the door and slam - the fog of stale smoke nearly killed us! I never ever wanted to sleep in an ashtray but stay on the 15th floor if you want that fantasy to be fulfilled. I think we slept for about 2 hours that night without being able to breath and no help from housekeeping to deoderize the room. Luckilly we were moved to a non-smoking room but the stale cigarette smoke permiated our clothing and luggage! Yuck! Another Yuck was the "inferior palace buffet" Reminded me of the 'fine cuisine' from my highschool cafeteria - don't waste your time on this. Afterwards, a bag of Cheetos was a culinary blessing to help mask the grease inspired cuisine of the emperor's buffet. Definitely go to Beau Rivage - Buffet is the best!!!!
Overall, if you are a true die-hard gambler then biloxi is your town. I would strongly suggest staying at another hotel unless you want to re-live the classic las vegas 70's style decor and atmosphere; stale smoke and rude cocktail waitresses.
Where do I start! We made reservations for three nights from August 8 through the 10th of 2004. Let me tell you this was probably our fourth or fifth stay at this hotel and the experience was so horrible my family and I will never go back. Hopefully you will read this and find another hotel that cares more about it's customers.
I went to checkout the pre-season football game party and all the giveaways that you can win on Monday August 9th. I got there about 9:30pm and knew that I wouldn't qualify for the free football squares because the game had started earlier but I did expect to put my name in for the great giveaways they advertised and that I had verified at their players club the night before. Surprise! you have to be there at 7pm to qualify for these things. No where does the literature say this. I complained to one of the managers at the players club and he said it was basically the way they do it and tough luck. No "sorry", no "hey you're right we could have worded it better". Nothing but a sneer! Ok, so I ended up speaking with the shift manager and got a free meal for my family. Well this made the first incident tolerable.
Second incident was the most bizarre and traumatic experence checking out I have ever encountered. My husband had ordered a movie so the kids and he could watch while I lost money at the casino. Well the movie was half way through(it is supposed to be a on demand movie) when they turned it on. He called the front desk and they said they would credit the account and restart it, no problem. Well low and behold no restart to the movie. The next day I go to checkout and explain the situation to the desk clerk and she proceeds to give me the twenty question act. I told her over and over the situation. She started laughing at me. Now I am not talking about a smile or rolling the eyes, I am talking about the kind of laughter that makes everyone in the lobby look at what is going on. This went on for I kid you not three to five minutes! I slapped the counter told her to give me
the bill, charge me whatever (at that point I just wanted out). I also said that I was not lying. She responded and I quote " I don't care". and continued to laugh. I then said " I will never be back". Once agian she responded with a evil look and said "I don't care". At this point the manager who was right beside her looked up and said "have you been taken care of?". I said "yes I am paying for a movie that I never saw"! There was no point in complaining about the clerk laughing because the manager was standing right there the whole time!!!! The manager took the 10.00 dollar movie off but didn't tell the clerk to stop laughing!
I left crying and feeling so belittled. My experience was so bad that I cancelled a reservation I had made earlier in the month for the end of August. The room was to be free along with ten dollars in cash from the Casino. In other words my trip would have been virtually free! It just is not worth it. Here are the other things that were substandard.
A fire alarm went off in the morning, finally on the speaker they said it was a false alarm, no explaination.
There are no fitted sheets so the plain sheet comes loose in the middle of the night and you find yourself sleeping on a mattress.
The buffet is overpriced for the quality.
we couldn't open the drawers in our room because some of the hardware was either completely gone or very sticky.
