From the outside, the Beau Rivage looks to be a first class hotel and casino. However upon closer review it is anything but. The parking garage is a very long walk from the rooms. My husband went for a conference, so we went as a family. The only way to carry your luggage via a cart is for a bellman to do it. There was a line of cars out onto Beach Blvd. so we opted to try it ourselves. BIG MISTAKE. We had to carry two small children and bags onto elevators down then out through the whole hotel along all the shops. This is an extremely long walk especially for little children and those that have special needs.

The elevators to the hotel rooms are right next to the casino. The area is smoky and full of all sort of characters especially after 8 pm. If that didn't cause enough frustration our rooms were situated as far from the elevators as possible. When we arrived in our room it was very cramped. Since we have a baby and had to store milk, I immediately looked for the refrigerator. There IS NO REFRIGERATOR or MICROWAVE or even a COFFEE POT!!!! I called the front desk and the lady was very kind explaning that there was nothing she could do about the microwave and I would have to try and heat the babies milk in a cup of hot water from the sink. (WHAT??? thought this was a first class hotel) They provided a refrigerator for $25 a DAY!!!!

The fees didn't stop from there. If you want to use the internet on your laptop you are charged $11.99 per IP address per 24 hour period. Also there wasn't even a DVD player in the rooms and only 20 channels. To add to the charges you can't take any drinks or food to the pool area. We thought we would just order something to snack on at the poolside cafe that the hotel talks about . NOOOOOO The cafe is ONLY OPEN on the WEEKENDS!! We had to order room service poolside. They add a 18% gratutity charge and $2 delivery charge to the $12 sandwhich!!! YIKES!!!

All and all it was very eye opening since the last time we went as a family we went to the Grand Casino's Oasis Hotel (pre-Katrina) and it was wonderful and extremely family friendly. However, since Katrina distroyed it, this was not an option. The Beau Rivage has a long way to go before considering itself 5 star.

Be sure to pay a little extra and get a room with a gulf view. The rooms are clean and spacious. There's a great pool and the staff is wonderful. The casino is 1st class. The dealers at the craps tables and in the poker room were the best. The food is very good at the Coast restaurant and the prices were reasonable. We highly recommend the hotel and casino if you're traveling to this area.

This was our first visit at the Beau Rivage (June 2009). We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary and the hotel upgraded us to the luxurious Jasmine suite on the 26th floor.
The suite had separate living area, his and her bathrooms "full walk-in shower and soaking whirlpool tub", bar area, nightly turn-down, VIP Elevators, and so much more.

Compare to other casinos we visited, this one doesn't have a strong odor of smoke, but it is noticeable. We played the slots, but didn't really have any luck!

Like any big casino resorts - if you check-in at 3pm, there are hundreds of folks waiting and anxious to get their rooms. With that in mind, just be patient, and stand in line for 30 minutes.

The BR Steakhouse has a neat bar area and the cosmopolitans and mango martini were great. We enjoyed the service much better than the Eight75 Bar. We didn't dine in the steakhouse so I can say either way. The Terrace Cafe was good for breakfast and the portions are huge.

The marina was closed, but the pool area had a great sunning deck overlooking the Gulf and separate from the pool area. The pool area had lots of lounge chairs, and was lively. The hostess for the poolside bar and grill frequently stop by to see if you need something. The pool area was much better than some of the other casino's.

Overall we had a very good experience with the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. The nearby beaches aren't that great. I heard Ship Island in Biloxi would of been the place to dip in cleaner water and whiter sands.

One last note - No Package Liquor on Sunday - Only Beer! Bring your own Grey Goose, or pay $$$$ at the casino.

I have stayed at "the Beau" many times since it opened. It is not as gracious and elegant as it was when Steve Wynn owned the hotel, but it is still a lovely property and a great alternative to a Vegas resort. The best way to arriva is via the Porte Cochere and using valet parking. The bellman are always helpful and friendly. In general, you will find most employees very friendly, especially when compared with other gambling resorts.

The rooms are spacious and very nicely appointed with marble throughout the bathrooms. They fail to reach the absolute pinnacle of luxurious in a few ways (the shower floor is a plastic basin, the sheets on the bed are acceptable quality and don't always reach the end of the bed, the mattresses on my last two stays were a bit worn). If you receive a "casino rate" on the rooms, they are an excellent value.

The spa and fitness center is a great place to spend an afternoon. I enjoyed a manicure, pedicure, and massage on my most recent visit. The massages are usually excellent, though this time, my 50 minute massage barely reached 45 minutes and my therapist was just good. My manicure and pedicure was fantastic. The workout facilities are great and overlook the spectacular outdoor pool area. I enjoyed a lunch in the solarium after my massage.

Unfortunately, Todd English's restaurant "Olives" recently closed. My family and I enjoyed a fabulous meal there last summer. The hotel really needs another option somewhere between its casual bar-b-q restaurant and its upscale steakhouse. The steaks start at $40 and are served a la carte. Jia, the asian restaurant, is fantastic. You can get sushi, Teppanyaki, or a variety of asian dishes. The whole fried snapper is absolutely delicious and will impress your fellow diners when it arrives. The Singapore noodles are some of the best i've ever had. The desserts are forgettable..don't waste your time.

The blackjack game is one of the best anywhere (Vegas, Mississippi, Atlantic City) with splitting of aces allowed 4x, late surrender, and dealers holding on soft 17 at some tables (you need to look carefully). This is the only game of its kind anywhere in Biloxi that I'm aware of. The casino isn't as smoky as most. Drink service is great at table games, but can be lackadaisacal at the slots if you are in a less populated area. The Eight seventyfive bar is a good place for a cocktail and they have a great band that plays on weekend nights. The hotel no longer has a resident show as they have over the years. This is unfortunate. When the hotel opened, Cirque Du Soleil had a resident show called "Allegria" that was absolutely fantastic. MGM didn't renew their contract, but booked in smaller shows. The quality of these varied dramatically, but it was something to do before or after dinner on a Friday or Saturday night and was usually entertaining and worthwhile.

While things have noticeably slipped here over the years (the effect of MGM ownership, I suspect), it is still a very nice hotel and makes for a fun weekend getaway.

First, to the reviewers complaining about the walking issue from the parking garage: IT'S CALLED VALET SERVICE! You are at a resort, not a holiday inn. These are the same people I see wheeling their oversized bags thru the casino/hotel. Bellman are there for a reason. OK.. so
This was my second trip to Biloxi, the first being pre-Katrina to the Grand Casino/Harrah's prop. The Beau was always regarded as the best in Biloxi, and rather than blow my frequent flier miles to Vegas, my wife and I decided to drive to the Beau from Atlanta for the weekend. The property is modeled on the Vegas template, grand entrance, spacious, etc. It's the details that are lacking...
First: PRICE. This is the most I have EVER paid for a room in a casino (mostly get free rooms from other props in Vegas/Reno/Tahoe). With the high price, I expected the standard resort/casino service - knowledable employees who go above/beyond re: customer service. Won't find it here. Which leads me to the next problem...
SERVICE: I can't tell you how many times I heard "I am so sorry" when I had a suggestion or issue during my stay. I don't want sorry, I want a result/solution/etc. The whole "not my job" attitude is rampant here, from the servers at the pool, to the table managers in the casino. The bell/valet staff was excellent, bartenders were good, and front desk staff were good. The majority of the casino staff were sub-par. Guess I needed to be sitting at the 100 dollar minimum table.
Third: Tight Tight Tight! While I play table games mostly, my wife and I enjoy video poker and a few other slot style games. But man, these things paid nadda! The worst payouts I've ever seen. And there was a VERY low number of 10 dollar blackjack tables on Friday/Saturday night. NOTE TO CASINO MANAGER: You will make more money if you open a 10 dollay table for all of those people waiting for a seat to open....or you can keep the derth of 50 and 100 dollar tables open - and basically empty.
If you want to stay at a high end resort (relative to other places in Biloxi) while enjoying a beach vacation, you might want to stay here. If you want to find a slice of Vegas this side of the Mississippi - look elsewhere.
