“A lot of fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Beau Rivage is a lot of fun, and after several visits over the years, I can tell you it's more fun if you get the correct room. Ask for a high floor, close to the elevator, facing the Gulf. You'll get a view--on the Mississippi coast, no less--that resembles an ocean view from a seaside bluff. You don't even have to squint--it's a perfect illusion. Too far east, however, and you get the glare from the Hard Rock casino; too far west, and you look at Gulfport (the better of the two options, however); too low, and you're face-to-face with the pool or the marina.
As for the rooms themselves, there's a Marriott-Renaissance-retrofit feel, as if they were originally designed for something that required more space than a hotel room. In other words, they seem weirdly large, as do the bathrooms. It's not a bad problem for a hotel to have.
Regarding the food, it's difficult--if not impossible--to separate casino from hotel, but if the buffet line is any judge, it must be more than OK. One flaw: the hotel wifi is weak and variable, as is the Verizon signal, in case you want use a personal hotspot. I don't think folks come here to surf the net or review documents for the boss, though. Anyhow, on my latest visit, the bed was very comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean, and every single employee greeted me with a smile. I won a hundred and ten bucks from a forty-five cent bet, so I smiled right back.

Decent enough hotel, and casino. For the rates they are charging it should be more than average.

Food is above average in the restaurants, but below for what they served in the convention center.

Convention Center didn't lay things out well with other group, and we had many people from our group trying to go into the other, and vice versa by accident.

In addition our group booked 150 room nights or more, and they were selling the rooms for less on their own website, than the supposed discounted rate they gave us.

The Beau is still the best casino in Biloxi. The only reason I cannot give it five stars is because of the smoke. The resort is gorgeous, the food is good, the shopping is what I would expect in a casino resort. We came for the day to do some gambling and were comped a generous 150.00 just for playing. The slots were good, and we left with winnings. I wish we could stay at the resort but I can't stand smelling like an ashtray and the ventilation, while good, is still not filtering out enough of the smoke.

Spent one night here on the way back home from New Orleans. I felt the hotel was nicer than the Harrah's in New Orleans. We had a suite and it was outfitted in anything you could ask for.
The lobby and rest of the facility is spotless and beautifully decorated. The casino is right off the hotel lobby.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the gulf. If your a smoker your out of luck .....all rooms non smoking...

My wife has family just outside of Biloxi, and every few years we fly in for Christmas and we always stay at the Beau. I really love this place the rooms are very nice and the staff is a joy. If there is one downside to the Beau its the valet service can sometimes be a pain. They should definitely allow call down service from their guests especially in the winter when the wait can be 10-15 minutes and it's pretty cold (especially for us Floridians) . For sure my wife and I will be back.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with Gulf view.

Our second stay on a Christmas night. Some improvements over last year. This year, our room's bedding had been upgraded from a spread to a duvet. The pillows were good, however the mattress was soft enough that I would have replaced it had it been in my home.

The staff working Christmas Day was less surly than last year. Housekeeping didn't earn any stars from me as they knocked on the door at 9 am on checkout day which seemed a bit early. (We had to be out by 11, so why the rush?). Also the night before there had been a fire alarm which I did not hear, but the "all clear" definitely got my attention. The blackout curtains are to die for!

There were other little things that didn't make sense - like a marble shower with a fiberglass base and missing finish on the marble countertop. Ventilation in the casino was improved as well - although there was a smoker in the tiny area allocated for those who chose not to partake. Of course being Christmas Day, staff was not around to address.

The Christmas show was entertaining. And in spite of my complaints, I would return.

Room Tip: You might want to ask for a view of the water or the city, otherwise you will likely get a view of t...
