“As advertised...great shrimp”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

basket lunch special for $9 which included about 20 medium shrimp, a heap of fries, and a drink. Served hot and quickly by a supersweet waitress. Wonderful French bread from NOLA...even bought a loaf to take home for $2.50. Had hot bread pudding, very good and which even had a few pecans. Little hard to find restaurant off Exit 41 I10 and the building is less than impressive - but the food is terrific.

“The RIGHT Taranto's!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

I am a local and this is THE Taranto's to go to! A lot of people don't realize there are three Taranto's. The original in D'Iberville is a stop-n-shop convenient store. Then there is a restaurant in Biloxi/Woolmarket and a restaurant in Ocean Springs. They are all owned and operated separately by different people in the Taranto family. The Biloxi location is a little more out of the way but well worth the drive! They have nailed the warm local dive a lot of people are looking for! It is very casual and inviting, the employees always make me feel at home :) The food is always great, not an overly extended menu but they execute what they do very well! Most people go for the boiled crawfish, when they're in season (THE best in town!!) but they have a full menu all year round otherwise. Crawfish, poboys, steaks, and more! Defiantly a MUST for locals & out of towners!

“A MUST TRY!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

This seafood place is one of those that is a "must try". Great seafood, great ambiance, and friendly servers...what more could you want?
On the north side of Interstate 10, this nothing special to look at place has been in business for 7 years, serving locals who knew of this hidden gem. Off the beaten path to the point you should have a GPS to help find, it is worth the time to drive to from hotels located on the beach. Now that they have been added to Trip Advisor, the word will spread, so the great food will have to be shared by the locals.
Both the exterior and interior are nothing special---the food is the attraction. Great Po-boys, seafood platters, and home made crab cakes. Had to try the bread pudding---don't miss it. The staff was super, treating us like old friends that happened to stop in.
Be sure to visit this Taranto's and not confuse it with another seafood place in Ocean Springs with almost the same name. The one in Ocean Springs is good---this one is better.
Minor complaint---the cole slaw should be made the night before, rather than when they open, so it will be cold.
