“Harrah's does it Right!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2010

Three wonderful days on the Gulf Coast. This hotel is one of many Harrah's properties, and one of the best. Great beach resort with great casino and pool area. Pool looks out over the ocean. You have to look thru an abondoned construction project, but you can see the ocean. Cabana's with fans, tv's, refrigerators, etc for rent pool side. Great bar looking over the pool and ocean that serves great food. 24 hour sandwich and snack shop with more great food at bargain prices.

If you are a Diamond player there is a Diamond Lounge, but I would stay away from it. Food was non-existent. A plate of cheese that looked left over with a bowl of crackers, and some fresh fruit that was FAR from fresh. Bar had no glasses and had to listen to the bar tender and a service person argue over who was supposed to get the glasses. Very poor and the worst Diamond Lounge I have ever been to. It has been obvious for a long time that Harrah's is trying to phase out their Diamond player program. Service hours have been reduced at all properties. The quality of the food, if there is any, has gone down hill. Diamond players in Shreveport are now turned away at VIP check-in and sent to the front desk. Why they don't just raise the points required to maintain Diamond status and keep the service up to par I do not know.

All in all this is a great hotel and you will not go wrong staying here.

My husband and i came down from Wed. - Sun., we had a wonderful time. The room was great, the beds aaaahhhh... Not a good tv channel selections but it was good enought. The gambling was pretty good, I hit several nice ones. The food was not the best I have had, the breakfast buffet was best. Lunch and dinner were ok. We did not pay for anything, no room, no drinks, no food. Everything was comped this was GREAT... I will be back in several months.

The staff are just great. My partner and i were going to the car and a staff member was on her way home, even then she was just great. (i have worked in the service industry and thats a hard one to pull off.. great for them )The room was clean, a.c. worked great.

The food however was horrible. The first day we did the lunch buffet. (granted kinda late. 1pm or so). Everything we eat was cold, or over done. the shrimp off the salad bar was frozen. (we are in Mississippi, after all figrued we would have fresh). The salad bar did have a great choice. however the bluecheese dressing was bad.
We then tried the bar. The margarita which was the worse. The mix use was just bad. My partner than tried an Amaretto and orange juice. The juice was just off.

I would go back to stay for the prices of the room and service but would go somewhere else for food and drink.

This hotel/casino was a great value. It was perfectly adequate for a short stay, especially for the amazingly low price. The buffet was fine and staff there was very friendly. The nonsmoking room smelled a little smokey and there were very bright lights shining into it all night. But it was otherwise clean and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the casino although it was smokey.

My husband and I took a little trip to Biloxi because we never had been there before. We had such a wonderful time and everyone we came into contact with were very nice and helpful. From the maids to the casino floor workers...everyone was kind and helpful. I requested a refrigerator in the room for medication and by the time our luggage arrived, the refrigerator was already in the room. We found the food to be good (buffet) and the rooms, themselves, were very nice. Roomy and comfortable. If there was one flaw to write about it would be the wifi service. I was unable to connect and was hooked up with a tech service who helped me get online which was very nice. However, I was charged for the phone call and didn't quite see it that way since I felt it was due to the lack of hotel assistance and they switched the call to the tech. Other than that very good trip and look forward to staying there again.

Great big room...comfy bed...good A/C...very clean...smelled clean...we got a great beach view......If you arrive late...call ahead...get your room detials in blood with full names and position held....our check in wasn't fun for anyone...but, in the end it worked out.

Buffet deal...50 plus get to buy one meal and get the other half off...food not great and not hot.

Trolley outside...stops at 9pm...other hotels are not near by.

Find hotel entrance frist thing...no security...it's on a side street.

Pool right next to front check in...you can see it from the lobby.

Work out room...there are TV's on the threadmills...you gotta love that.

Extra info: there is a liquor store and gas station on side street when you walk out of the hotel...there is also a laundry/dry cleaner/seamtress on side of parking garage just off the side street next to a auto repair shop which we saw as we were leaving.
