The Grand was quite good for what it is and where it is. Biloxi is still rebuilding; and, the Grand is really a "temporary" casino in what was the hotel's conference area. It is small as most have noted, but I don't see that as a negative. Staff in the casino, the hotel, the bar and the restaurants were friendly.
The rooms were renovated after Katrina and are quite nice, though a little small.
The clientele skews to older people, say 40 and up.
The drawback, depending on what you're looking for, is there isn't much to do there when you aren't gambling. No shows, no band, no entertainment at all, indeed only one bar adjacent to the lobby.
The solution is a short cab or shuttle ride away at the other casinos.
A small plus for me, the hotel is owned by Harrahs. The comps weren't great; but, I've gotten two offers for two free nights since going (Sun. - Th.) coupled with a free buffet and $60 in slot credit. Not too bad.
