“New go-to hotel in Biloxi!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2009

Usually when we travel to Biloxi we stay at the Beau Rivage; however, the rates that they were asking were outrageous for this time of year. After checking around and reading reviews we chose this Hampton Inn. We got the oceanview suite with jacuzzi tub based on the great price for the room and it exceeded my expectations. The room is enormous, and the room was clean and comfortable. It has a lot of little amenities, such as a valet and a lap pad for your laptop. It also had a refrigerator, microwave, and free wifi. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We were only there one night so I can't really comment on the staff but we had quick and easy check-in and express check-out. We have decided that we will stay here in the future.

This was a very clean and comfortable Hampton Inn. Although it has some gulf views, it is not easy to access the beach. You must cross a very busy divided highway to do so.

Our two night stay at the Hampton Inn-Biloxi Beach was wonderful. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, the staff was attentive, welcoming, and friendly. The room (King oceanview) was clean and very spacious. I absolutely loved the oversized whirlpool tub in the bathroom. I did have the opportunity to use the pool and always found it very clean and well kept. The breakfast and breakfast staff in the mornings were both great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area who does not want to stay at one of the casinos. I enjoyed the close proximity to them, however.

This Hampton is just down the road from most of the casinos and right on the Gulf coast. Our complaints with it would be that the halls on the floor we stayed, which was a non-smoking floor, smelled like stale smoke and it could use some facelifting with some new carpet and paint. Also they need more soundproofing. But overall it was a good experience. The bathroom was well maintained and clean The included breakfast was varied and good especially the donuts and the lounge where you ate breakfast was very nice.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2008

Hotel: The Hampton was very clean, the fitness room was nice, the location is convenient for the area and our check-in time was handled in a timely fashion by a courteous desk clerk. We liked the breakfast area which offered Krispy Kreme donuts (my boys loved that) as well as fruit, cereal, muffins and an egg/ham/cheese mixture one morning (which my husband liked but I thought tasted fake like packaged military food) and biscuits and gravy the next morning which was quite tasty.

Pool area: I was told over the phone that the outdoor pool and hot tub were heated, but they definitely were not. Although the outside temps were 69-73 degrees, the water was way too cold so we didn't put more than a hand in the water.

Our room: The room was bigger than other hotel rooms we have stayed in and the beds were very comfortable. I liked the clean micro/fridge combination. We were pleasantly surprised by the large whirlpool jetted bathtub in the bathroom. We'd love to have one of those at home! I was disappointed, however, in the ocean view. Yes, we had a view of the ocean if you stood in front of the window, but there was not a balcony and no way to open the window.

The area: Biloxi was, of course, heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina and you can still see debris in places after all this time. We were there in '04 before my husband deployed, and it saddened me to drive through Biloxi, Gulfport and Long Beach and see all the empty lots and remember what used to be there. I especially miss the dolphins and the Gulfarium. I don't think we will return since it is mainly just a place to gamble and we have no interest in that. We have visited many beaches in the south, and the Mississippi beaches top our list of the least pleasant to visit. The water reminds us of a stagnant lake, the waves don't roll up on the shore like at other beaches, and the Mississippi beaches (although refurbished with more sand) are not pretty.

If you are passing through the area and need a place to stay, I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was nice. Staff very friendly. The only problem I encountered was the parking. The parking lot was located behind the hotel and it was not very well lit. I did not feel safe going to my car at night. Other than that, I enjoyed the stay.
