“Sucked Big Time!!! Stunk!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2009

This was the worst experience ever!!! When we walked up to check in there was someone complaining about their toilet bubbling and would not flush, we didn't think anything about it. When we got to our room, first off it smelled literally like [-]. The toilet would not flush, we contacted the front desk and she said that she would send someone out to check it. We went out for the night and upon our return (about 2 am). The toilet still would not flush and the sewerage (poo and all) was backing up into the tub. We immediately called the front desk and they came with a room key to move us to a different room. We had to pack up all of our stuff and move to the other side of the hotel and to the top floor. In my opinion, if it is known that there is a problem with the pluming, these rooms should not be rented out!! This was VERY unsanitary! The advertisements on the internet were very deceiving.

I stayed to visit some family and for a last minute hotel booking this what I expected. I loved the spacious room, and the front desk lady was kind. The only thing I can say that I really didn't like was the flushing of the toilet. The plumbing was pretty bad and you had to hold to flush. It wasn't that big of a deal but it would be something that needs to be worked on. Aside from that, their was someone's old stale potato chip bag laying under the bed, which shows they don't clean under there.

I did like that it was across the street from a shell station, which was convenient plus the motel is right next door from a Hooters and Waffle House. It's about a five minute walk from all 3 of those places.

I would stay there again if I needed a cheap place to stay. It wasn't bad at all, it was definitely better than nothing

Oh how I wish I had read these reviews before I booked an online deal. It's STILL a hangout for drug dealers and prostitutes. Pros: Good location. The staff is nice and accommodating, and the rooms are not the dirtiest I've ever seen. The continental breakfast has improved from the last review. They now have a staff member attending and personally prepares tasty, hot waffles on a waffle iron (though she admitted using Leggos when she runs out!) The tables look to be new and they have more choices for food. Cons: The walls are VERY thin. Even when people next door were speaking in regular conversation, we could hear every word. Since people tend to come in from the casinos very late (3AM), they will wake you up for sure unless you happen to be in a coma. Even though lobby looks good, rooms are STILL run down. Very scary looking "guests" still gather in the courtyard in the back (which happened to be close to our room) with their lawn chairs and party with lots of beer and smokes. I paid $70 for the room, but there are better places to stay in Biloxi now. I did not feel safe there (and I am from Atlanta) because there were men who partied in the rooms and stared at us constantly when we would come and go in our car. I would NEVER recommend that anyone ever stay here...unless you are a drug dealer or prostitute.

Four couples came together for Cruisin The Coast. We all booked together and told them we wanted ground floor due to various health issues, ie bad knees etc. and wanted to have our rooms together. We booked well over 6 months ago so this should not have been a problem. When we arrived, we were all over the place and all on the second floor. They told us they would "try" to get some of us in ground floor rooms. There were numerous rooms that they said were already booked on the ground floor. Well, we arrived on Tuesday and those rooms did not fill up until Friday or Saturday. We say first come, first served unless these folks also had health issues. (as it turned out, they were some of the younger folks we talk about.)They did manage to move 3 of us to adjoining rooms, but one couple had to stay on the opposite side of building. And yes, the up and down the stairs caused a trip to the doctor for treatment when we got home. They didn't really seem to care too much.
The "maid" came in daily and made the beds and put out clean towels (although we had to get more wash clothes daily) and emptied trash, but that is about all. The entire week, I think they vacuumed maybe once. The bathroom was terrible. The toilet was loose so that you thought it was going to fall over when you sat down, the tub had, at one time, non slip strips on the bottom, but those had long ago worn away and my husband slipped in the tub. And the shower head …you had to run around in the water to get all wet. How expensive are cheap shower heads that you can't put decent ones that actually work in your motel?
Also, the weekend brought out the hell raising young folks. They hung out around the pool area and in the parking lot, which made us a little nervous with our classic cars there. There was definitaly under age drinking (either that or they were sure young looking 20 something year olds) and fireworks at all hours of the night. They even enterfered with the Cruisin the Coast activities by getting on the streets with the old cars in their loaded down pickups and booze and giving the whole event a big black eye. Believe me, the local police worked overtime!
We went ahead and booked this motel again for next CTC with assurances that we would all get better rooms on the ground floor. They gave us a $500 rate for the entire week. I truly hope they clean it up and do a little maintainance in the mean time. (and don't rent to groups of noisy spoiled kids, especially during this time.) We had the idiots park their little sports cars in front of our trailers where we could not get them out when it was time to leave. And, we were parked in a designated trailer parking area.
We are giving them one more chance because it is an ideal place to see all the cars going by on the street. Or at least it will be when the city gets the street lights back on.

  • Liked — The fact that we had trailer parking although limited and a good place to gather out front to see the cars.
  • Disliked — Cleanliness and how they accomodate those that need special assistance ie; ground floor rooms

The front desk person when I checked in and out was fine (2 diff people). The location is good, since it is directly across from the beach.
Aside from the lobby area, the exterior and interior looks run down. Saw some broken beer bottles lying around in walking areas, old broken toys in pool area, dirty pool, exterior needs paint badly, etc. (Yes, I am aware of Katrina but there are other cheap hotels that are much better looking) Interior, phone in room was in working condition but keys were missing on it, tolite worked but sat unbalanced so every time you sat on it it felt like it would topple over, etc. The room was pretty noisy at night since guests tend to gather in the yard with their lawn chairs and party. However, this didn't go on past about 11pm. They offer a continental breakfast which leaves much to be desired. They served cold pancakes & waffles ( I think they were previously frozen and just defrosted with butter but no syrup but there was ONE empty syrup bottle. Not sure of the point since they had so many guests), English muffins (although there were only 2 and they quickly ran out and there wasn't anyone around to clean the area or replenish the food when it ran out), concentrated juice machine, milk & cereal. The tables in the dining area were dirty and some of the chairs had torn cushions. I paid $80 total for the room (including tax/fees). I didn't feel it was worth it. It was probably worth $60.

We refused to stay at this hotel. This was truly a NASTY hotel and not fit for anyone, especially people with children. Believe it or not, we saw "hookers" working the hotel, a lot of people drinking, and even saw a drug transaction take place between two rooms on the balcony. The first room the hotel gave us, the door wouldn't even lock, smelled of sour beer, and the bathroom had not been cleaned, and the second room was as bad, if not worse. The bathroom in this room still had waste in the toilet and dirty towels still on the floor and it too smelled awful. I will not reccommend this hotel to anyone unless you are a hooker or drug dealer.

We were able to overlook the telephone not working in our room and no internet access in the room as advertised on the website because the Gulf Coast is recovering from Katrina. However, the mattress sagged very badly in the middle. We tried putting pillows between us but it did not help. The room was clean, but the bathroom could use a good cleaning. When we reported these conditions the next morning, we received a very luke warm apology. Do not stay here.
