“Worth a tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2011

This beautiful house of Jefferson Davis was very heavily damaged in 2005 by hurricane Katrina. The house has been restored and they are working on the presidential library. There are still FEMA trailers on the property and the gift shop and movie are shown in one. They estimate the construction will be finished in a year. The house is beautiful and overlooks the gulf. You can just imagine the old vets sitting on the portch enjoying the gulf breeze and the beautiful view. (Beauvoir means beautiful view.) If you are in Biloxi now, it is worth your time to see the house. If you are planning a trip for the future, I would recommend planning a trip when the construction is finished.

“Go Mid October to Fall Muster if possible......wonderful time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2010

All the other reviews are very accurate. If you are a history buff, you will love it. If you are not a history buff, you would still probably enjoy a quick tour because you really are transported back in time. We went to the Fall Muster last year and the kids enjoyed it as much as grandma and grandpa. It is always held the second or third week in October. There were so many actors dressed in the old time period while they re-enacted a scene from the Civil War. And they had vendors selling lots of cool things. I bought a DVD of Disney's "Song of the South" which Disney pulled from shelves decades ago. Was thrilled to get it since it was the first movie I ever saw on the big movie screens. Definitely, go to Fall Muster if you are in town then.

“Very beautiful and educational time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2010

My husband, his parents, my infant daughter, and I visited in Aug of 2010. The house was so beautiful and the tour guide was well educated and did a very good job giving the tour. Many items were distroyed in Katrina and they are still in the process of rebuilding. We learned a lot and had a nice time. I would like to come back when more is finished including the Presidential library and rose garden. Prices were a little spendy. Good Military discount though!

“Worth a Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

The restoration of this historic home is faboulous. We visited 2 years ago just after the home had reopened from the terrific damage done by Hurricane Katrina.
The home is simply beautiful with much attention shown to the smallest detail. There are plans for new Confederate library which is under construction. Also an extensive Rose Garden is planned ---will plan to revisit in December 2011.

“Slice of History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2009

This place is amazing at every turn. As soon as you step out your car in the parking lot you feel like you've jumped a hundred years back in time, or more. The library is jammed packed with information like some other reviews said. The house is great and beautifully remodeled. A true sign of country living.

Do yourself a favor, pay the cheap rate to take a tour. You wont know how great it is until you've been there.
