My husband and I started out from the Twin Cities on an adventure weekend, not knowing where we would end up for the night. It is by chance that we stayed at the Carriage Hills in Winona. With over 30 years of enjoying B&Bs, our blessed experience at Carriage Hills has become our most enriched and memorable. Our charming room was well appointed and considerably larger than most others that you find in a B&B. Our bed was very comfortable, and the quaint fireplace provided both extra heat on the chilly November night as well as romantic ambiance. Breakfast was served in the porch room by Don and Laura, one of his college helpers. It was delicious, especially the very fresh raspberries and strawberries. Don also makes a superb hot chocolate with fresh whip cream! It was a wonderful morning of lively conversation with Don and the other guests, who are repeated visitors to the Inn because of the relationship that they have developed with both Don and his wife Deb. Carriage Hills has become a home away from home for the guests who travel regularly to Winona. There are many great things to say about the Inn, but the highlight is Don himself. He is an Economics Professor at the college, as well as a successful entrepreneur and world traveler (especially India). He is also an incredibly intelligent man with a generous heart and spirit who dedicates much of himself to family, students, friends and community. He has a servant's heart and looks to mentor and help those that are put in his path. Our wish is that all the blessings that Don and Deb have provided to others will be returned back to them in abundance. Future stays in Winona will definitely be at the Carriage Hills B&B.
