Upon arrival the desk clerk took over 5 minutes to show up, although she was just in the office. She acted bored and put out.
Later when I needed a light bulb she said she'd bring one down. An hour later I went up and again she huffed and acted like it was such a personal sacrifice for her!
The mattress on the bed is lumpy, the sheets and pad are not made properly leaving ridges under you. I woke up with a back ache.
The noise level in this motel is unbelievable! No sound proofing what so ever. I was kept awake until 1:30am by kids running back and forth, screaming and laughing loudly. No supervision, no provisions for quests who just want a good nights sleep. If you stay try and insist on the second floor, then at least you won't have them screaming up and down the hall AND running over the top of you.
No decaf coffee, no hair dryer.
Continental breakfast consists of dull donuts, english muffins, bagels, juice, coffee and cereal. Not worth the extra money, you'll get a better tasting breakfast at Casey's.
And finally let's talk about the price. $89.95 for a single. I have AAA, told them I had AAA, but it was never applied to my bill. Total with taxes was $99. Ridiculous for a single room. When I acted surprised by the cost (rates online show $79.95) they were very rude and said the $79.95 was the weekday rate (fine, where's my AAA discount???) and it doesn't matter to them if it's 1 or 2 or 4. I am going to take this up with AAA. This place has the attitude of the Taj Mahi, but the appearance and ambivance of a Super 8 with a pool.
I had reserved for Christmas & New Year's but have since cancelled. I'm going to try the American Motel in Waseca, better prices for sure and much friendlier on the phone, so I'm hoping for the best.
Best Budget Inn in Owatonna is still my favorite. Around $40/night, friendly decaf coffee, huge TV, hair dryer and just the friendliest people around. They'll do anything for you!
I'll be back there when the weather warms up, but I need to be in Waseca when the weather gets crummy. That 13 mile drive can be nasty in the winter time :o)

We would love for you to come back and see what we have done with the Crossings now. In April 2009 we switched to the Crossings by GrandStay Inn & Suites brand and the guests love it. We have upgraded our breakfast program to include fresh waffles, fruit, pastries & yogurt. We have also upgraded our bedding program to new white duvets and down comforters. Guests really enjoy the new comfortable feel in the rooms. We also train values in our staff to go above and beyond on customer service and we truely believe that each guest should feel welcome and extremely important whether they stay one day or a month. If you are in town again please visit us and let us show you that our customer service is out of this world!
