“Make reservations or you may be eating with mosquitoes (or be eaten by them)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

My family arrived at the Boulders on a Friday evening without reservations. We were told that it would not be possible to eat indoors but that a table on the patio would be only a 25 minute wait. An hour later, we were seated. Service was slow (the restaurant was packed). Our meals arrive at nearly the same time as the mosquitoes began to swarm around us and the other outdoor diners. The bugs were so bad we couldn't even finish our meal, so we paid (overpriced food costs) the bill with food still on our plates and bolted for our car. Other diners left quickly, too. A couple at a table next to our's told their waitress they were going to finish eating at the bar and were told there wasn't room for them inside. An elderly man and woman at another table went in search of bug spray so they could finish their meal, but as we were leaving we saw them move indoors.

“Imaginative food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

The food was very tasty and imaginative. The prices are what you would expect for the nouveau cuisine. It would be wise to make reservations during the summer. It's a very popular spot.

“Dining Experience Rocks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

The four of us were able to get reservations for 7 pm on a Saturday evening and were thrilled that we did. We had spent the day at the Beltrami County Fair and were tired and hungry by the end of the day. We were dressed very casually but others at the restaurant were as well. When we arrived a few minutes before our reservations and found the dining room packed with patrons, but our table by the window was quickly presented. Service was good, not great but the food was wonderful and the portions large. It can be noisy with many people but not uncomfortable for conversation. We were too full to even attempt dessert but other customers did and the desserts looked great. This is a great place to enjoy dinner in Walker and would love to return in the future.

“The food was good, prices high and the acoustics terrible”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We have eaten at Boulders for the last time. The food was mediocre but very pricey. The service was unpleasent and we had to yell at each other to make conversation because the acoustics were so bad. They said they were goin to fix that last fall when we were in there but if they did it didn't help much and it's not like they even had that many people in there or the music was loud - there wasn't any music.

“Awesome everytime!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

My husband and I love this place to eat and enjoy an evening when in Northern Minnesota. We have always had great food and service. At times it can get noisy when full, but we tend to go later in the evening so this isn't usually a problem. Love it!
