“Pleasant Surprise!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

My Wife & I were spending a long weekend near La Crosse Wisconsin in July of this year and one day we took a drive along the Mississippi River on the Minnesota side and came across this place. We both love the outdoors and especially seeing big birds (Eagles, Hawks, etc), so when we saw the signs and stopped in we were thrilled! Even though it cost $8 per adult to get in, the place was very nice. It looked like it was built within the last couple years so the place was very clean, with several exhibits and displays throughout the facility. We came at the right time because there was a 45 min seminar all about eagles, which included a real/live Eagle to show & tell with. It was very informative and the kids that were there really enjoyed it! There must have been 40 people there and everyone loved it! We also got to take a picture standing right next to an eagle, which was very cool. We were also able to go into a room and stand next to several Eagles who were all hurt in the past, which meant they could not survive in the wild anymore due to the fact they could not fly anymore! We are going to take our kids to this place next Summer so they can learn all about Eagles and to learn different ways that we can all help preserve Eagles and other animals in the wild by our actions! Great Place and a Real Gem!

“Spotting Eagles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

The National Eagle Center is a wonderful place for both children and adults to learn about raptors, especially bald eagles. The center has 4 raptor residents that can not be introduced to the wild due to injury. There are 3 programs daily in which one of the eagles are fed and information is delivered in an entertaining way. We really enjoyed the interpretive center activities as well as seeing the eagles "up close and personal." We were told the best time to see multiple eagles in the wild was during the cold winter months when the tributaries to the Mississippi are frozen and the birds converge on the river outside the center. Of interest to children as well as adults.

“Eagle Eye View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013 via mobile

This eagle center is a must-see! It is located right along the beautiful Mississippi River, in the historic and picturesque community of Wabasha. The center's exhibits, hourly seminars, and informative displays provide you with everything you need to know about American eagles. The building is modern and light-filled, and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. You will have the opportunity to have a close view of the eagles.

“Eagles are amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013 via mobile

At first sight, it's hard to grasp what you are seeing when you visit this place - the birds are huge. All five of the eagles that live there permanently were injured and cannot fly. However, they are still very imposing, standing nearly four feet high. Makes you understand intuitively why the bald eagle was chosen as America's national symbol. Did you know that the golden eagle can take down a full grown deer?

“Eagles Up Close”

Loved the informative and lively 45-minute program and the other exhibits at the center, particularly the film about the Mdewakanton Sioux.
