Walking out of the restaurant, we noticed the sign for this light station. When we got there it was closed and the gate was locked, but touring it was not our intention. Our daughter likes and collects lighthouse items, so we wanted to go and get some pictures for her. The day we were there it was cold, very foggy and near dusk. Lake Superior was verily visible, so getting pictures of the lake was impossible. This was the first light station we were at that the light was working and through the fog you could see the beam quite well, which made for some terrific pictures. Very clean and well maintained area, with plenty of parking. The only problem we had was the area is very heavily populated with deer that take their time to move out of your way.
