“Icon of North Shore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Long before you even see the sign for the lighthouse you will notice its beacon. The entrance is well marked, with numerous parking spaces including places to park an rv. Inside the visitor center you will find lots of history on the lighthouse, a huge gift shop containing thousands of items nautical. Very clean restrooms. The ticket price for adults is $9. The grounds around the lighthouse are beautiful. The lighthouse itself is beautiful to behold and the views of Lake Superior are stunning! Adjacent to the lighthouse are many trails within the state park that lead to even more views of the lighthouse from the shoreline.

“Superior light house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Very cold the day we went and this was in june! Lighthouse has a tour available for its guests. we decided to go on our own excursion around the site for great uninterrupted pictures. A really long set of steps are available to bring you close to the pump house which is about 300 yards away from the actual lightouse but makes for a spectacular view when you are shore side off the rocks looking at the light house on its high rise cliff.

Beautiful site with guided tours & friendly staff. This is a must see when up on the north shore. There are also hiking trails in the area with easy paved paths & picnic areas.

“This is a must-see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

We spent a wonderful afternoon here and felt like we were back in time. The place is immaculate and very up to date. The tour guides are very helpful. You can take a guided tour or a self-tour. The cost for adults is $8 and you don't have to buy a state park ticket to see the lighthouse area. Plus, as a bonus, they give you a complimentary day pass for the state park for that day. There is a 22 minute film that really explains the making of the lighthouse.
