I took my Dad for Father's Day Brunch and BIG MISTAKE. I'm not sure what the management strategy is at Kozlak's, but the waitstaff and everyone working there seem extremely unhappy.
My father asked to order off the menu - NOT ALLOWED. My father asked for a beer on tap - PAY EXTRA, NOT ALLOWED. I finally got him through 6 wobbly tables of buffet items most of which were cold and sloppy; we settled on a few items that looked somewhat edible but ended up causing us both gastrointestinal problems for 2 days after!
The bacon was underdone, the potatoes were sloppy, cheesy and cold, the eggs benedict was sloppy and cold, there was no toast offered at all, the cornbread muffins were hard and small, the "omelette station" displayed a dirty pan, the "chili/gumbo station" provided coffee cups instead of bowls. The ribs were rock hard and tough. $65 later we ran out of this restaurant that badly needs updating and cleaning. Long ago, say in the 1980's, the place was ok, but for the price they get per entree now, some investment in the property and the management is badly needed. Never going back and embarrassed that I took my Dad here for Father's Day. Cross another restaurant off the already light list of places to eat out decently in the northern suburbs. Awful.
