“excellent restaurant-best in area”

Excellent selection of items, elegant room, good wines by the glass. Like tables by the window and booths are great too.

“Very disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

My husband and I had heard about your restaurant for years from good friends. Therefore, when we attended a fund raiser for our grand children's private school we bid on a certificate from your establishment. The bid did go over the value of the certificate. We did plan to visit the restaurant with our friends who go there three to four times a year for special family events and can spend over $800 to $900 each visit.
We had lunch there on June 19th. The service was average but the food was very disappointing. I had the Chicken Rigatoni. The four cheese cream sauce was very thin with minimal flavor. There were few pieces of chicken and scattered pieces of Portobello mushroom. The pasta was chewy and pasty. My husband had the scampi. The five average size shrimp were not jumbo size as described on the menu. There was no noticeable mushroom or leeks. The sauce was thin with very little flavor. Our friend had the Tuna and that was cut in chunks instead of thin slices. The sauce looked anemic and did not have many ingredients as mentioned on your menu. We did not want to embarrass our friends and did not mention how disappointed we were. Obviously we have no intention of returning to the restaurant again.

“Perfect old school birthday dinner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Elegant ambiance, well done classics, extensive scotch list. Kir royale made perfectly. Pumpernickel brwad in the bread basket was excellent and clearly house made. Strawberry shortcake was delicious!

“Nice enough, but not as fancy as expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

We have come here twice in the last 4 years for graduations with 9 people. They have accommodated us with nice seating arrangements, especially with two sets of grandparents. This time we visited, we noticed the prices has significantly increased from the last time 2 years ago. Our appetizers took too long to get there. The waitress and wait staff were all very kind and helpful with ordering drinks and food. The three course meal is definitely a steal here, if you go on the right special day. Although the food and drinks are outrageously overpriced ($700 for 9 people) it is a decent dining experience. The steak I got was charred so deep it was not worth what I paid for. Some of the portions are way too big, and do NOT taste good when you bring them home for the next day, even when left in a fridge overnight. As I said, the bill was outrageous, and the whole place is way too loud. Even with only 10 tables occupied and few at the bar, there was way too much noise. The highlight of our meal was sadly the group yoga in the park across the street. The windows do give a nice look, if you are seated in a position to see them. I will go back, but very unwillingly because of the price and quality of food. I hope to hear back from a manager about my issues.
