“Great Food - Great Atmosphere - Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2011

This is an excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown St. Paul. Whether we have ordered from the menu or visited the pasta bar the results are always delicious. The wait staff is consistently friendly and efficient. Whether dining with family, friends or for business it is a great choice. The live music also provides a nice and not overwhelming backdrop.

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

Location was central to St. Paul. Service was very good. Interesting decor. The chicken was a bit over cooked and smothered in sauce. Not what I expected from this restaurant. Having said that, I will try it again.

“Worth the trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011

Great restaurant with good food. Not as "flashy" as some of the other venues, but not the hole in the wall as experienced with some other smaller Italian restaurants in the area. If you can, try to go either Friday or Saturday nights. They have the most fantastic jazz guitarist there, and his sets are worth the price of the meals in and of themselves.
Nice pasta bar, and if you go, plan on the proverbial "doggy bag", as their portions, while quality, are also huge!
Street parking can be a hassle, but it's worth a couple of blocks walk if you have to, to enjoy the ambience, music, and great food.

“Decent food; atmosphere loud; good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2011

I was concerned at first when I was approaching the restaurant outside on the sidewalk, and saw the lit beer signs in the windows. It is a step up from a tavern however. It is not a restaurant I would take someone too if I wanted to impress them, or propose to them! Atmosphere was a bit loud, (There was a jazz guitarist that sounded great.) Food was good...no complaints. (Won't remember the meal a week from now.)

“Great Pasta Bar - Huge portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2010

We went to this restaurant the day after thanksgiving for lunch. They only had the Past bar available. They also only had one server serving the customers. So maybe this is not totally representative. Pasta Bar had four sauces and maybe 20 or so of the basic types of Pasta ingredients. Two red sauces, one spicy, two cream sauces, one spicy. The cook was friendly and attentive. Portions were exceedingly generous - you get about 2 lbs of food. Pick your past and the cook heats it all up in a few minutes. Some freshness is lost but it was still very good food. The bread with the meal was great served with an Herb butter. All very nice. The decorating is a bit tacky in my mind - trying just a bit too hard to look like an authentic Italian eatery. Service was good but not great.
