What's so special about this place? For one thing, high quality food in a neighborhood setting (casual and friendly) is a rarity in the Twin Cities. There's really nothing quite like it any other Mpls/St. Paul community, which is a bit strange, since on the surface there's nothing complicated going on here: A small menu of very good food and a large selection of good beers, in a nicely restored older building.
There's nothing quite this good, low-key, and inviting in Minnetonka, Edina, Uptown, on Grand Ave., or (insert your neighborhood here).
You'd think places with a populist, no-attitude vibe with good food at a fair price would be commonplace, but they're not. Go figure.
