“Nice, but pricey. Portion sizes are a dieter's delight!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Salut was recommended by friends accustomed to overpriced, overrated eateries on Grand Avenue. It's not the food, service, or ambiance that's the attraction, it must be the location. Everything was OK, but not impressive. If you're really hungry, be sure to order several items from the al a carte menu, as the serving sizes are indeed small. Bon appétit!

“Family dinner for college graduation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

Very busy restaurant. great location. we had a large party and 6 little kids. service was poor. kids ate first which was good. adults waited over an hour for entree's. had several appeitzers to tide us over and all were very good. by the time the food came kids were crazy so we ate rapidly and were out the door. don't quite understand it. lots of waiters and busy kitchen. my husband and i ordered steak sanwich and fries (for kids). we waited about 10 minutes after every one else got there food and than were told fries would be coming as soon as they were ready. overall great food but unsure if we would go again due to poor service and only excuse was " lots of graduation parties" except several tables around us were empty.

“Beautiful patio!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

A girlfriend and I stopped for lunch and enjoyed the large patio on a sunny day. Waiter was good, although didn't love his suggestions - maybe more my fault than his! Love the bread and the salted butter! Half chicken salad sandwich and Caesar salad were fine...not outstanding. Prices a little steep. Friend had $11 cocktail or lunch!

“New Favorite Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

We had an awesome meal and even better service. For a party of 4 we ordered 2 appetizers - the brie plate and the warm olives, both were excellent. Then we ordered 2 steaks - the filet and the hangar steak - more than enough meat for the 4 of us - and we got 4 sides. We had food leftover and all left with full bellies.

This is a great spot on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. Consistently good food, and service. Great ambiance, especially the patio!
