“Surprise for all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

We were leaving St Paul and all of a sudden our two grandkids so a sign for towys of the 50s, 60, &70s. It also attracted us and we stopped in. The exhibit was very good as the kids kept asking did we have those toys or want them when we were that age, generational differences, but they and we enjoyed it very much. The Civil War display was good too. Traffic is a cluster around the Capitol park and St Pauls Cathedral, but navigable. A good sidebar that we had not planned on.

“A Minnesota Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We love the Minnesota History Center. We have been there three times, and each visit has been a lot of fun. Great exhibits, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of interesting Minnesota History on display, and a great view of the Capital as well. Get a snack or meal at the Cafe Minnesota on the first floor-lots of good food choices at reasonable prices,

“A true gem that the Minnesotians should be proud of....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014

This place was not on our original list of things to do. However with the capital under construction this place seemed to fill a hole. Well, it did not just fill the hole it took the entire afternoon. My girls (12) and (7) had a wonderful time. I appreciated the care and concern that the staff took with the girls' continuous questioning. Each exhibit was thoughtfully planned to consider a variety of ages and learning levels. Yes, I do think that having a child along on this visit added a special sort of magic, but I think it also appeals to adults that are visual or hands on learners. Be thankful that places like this exist; they make history fun, exciting, and alive. Excellent job!

“Child-oriented; overrated if you're an adult”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Most of the exhibits seemed geared towards children, and as an adult travelling without children, I found most of the exhibits amateurish.
