“Excellent place for young families...plenty of space to play!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed at this Holiday inn while we were travelling through Minnesota. We are priority club members so we received a free upgrade. The suites were huge! Full size kitchens, counter tops. The rooms felt a bit dated as you can still smell the smoke from when it used to be 'smoking allowed', however, the bathroom was renovated very nicely. We stayed on the side of the Holidome where there were two indoor volleyball courts (a huge area that can be divided into separate courts). For our children who were sick of driving, this was the perfect place for them to run around, play volleyball / basketball, and just have fun. There were multiple pools there, although they were a bit on the cold side. We had an excellent volleyball game with our extended family and fun hanging out in the connected suites. It was quite quiet as it was a Monday night in July 2012 which was nice. We did have dinner in the Legends restaurant, although the wait for our food was horrible. A large group we know, but we could have eaten faster at any other restaurant. Kids eat free...so you can't complain too much. All in all, a very nice place to stay for a night or weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for a free upgrade if you are priority club members. Can get a large suite.

This is the second time we stayed here. It was a very busy weekend for St Cloud. There was a Hockey tounament going on and the MN Republican Convention. I do believe the motel was full. We were in town just for the night. We like to stay here because of the location and we can usually get a good deal. Besides these factors we choose our hotel/motel on free high speed internet access. This Holiday Inn fits that bill too. The rooms and facilities are clean and quiet. Being as full as it was I was suprised it was quiet, well at least as far as other guests go. The Inn does need to do some upgrading. Specially in regards to the heating/cooling unit that is in the room. I think it is one of those throw back units from the 70's. Loud as hell! We had to shut it off so we could sleep. So if you are one who needs quiet, bring ear plugs because when you turn it off the room gets too stuffy and warm and you can't sleep well because of that. So pick your poison. You get nice little perks if you are a Priority Club member so it's worth the free sign up.

The bar was nice. There was a good live band there on Friday night. The buffet on Saturday morning. It was a good buffet at a good price. Had the usual fare of potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, etc. One suggestion I would have is that it would be nice to be able to make toast, bagel, or english muffin. Waffles just don't do well on a buffet line. Either the waitress we had was new or she was half asleep. Brought us coffee urn but no cups. We had to take them off the next table, which is probably why we didn't have any either.

Would we stay here again? Yes, it suits our purpose just fine.

The last time I was at this Holiday Inn was 16 years ago. Since then, they have improved their amenities. The beds were comfortable and there was a small refrigerator/freezer in the room. They do not offer a free breakfast but they do have Legends cafe where you can eat or order their room service.

What really sets this hotel apart is their recreation facilities. I didn't see everything but what I did see was the 2 volleyball courts, basketball court, pools, ping pong tables, arcades, etc. There were more than enough things to participate in (had I had the energy to do so).

Great location near the Division place mall and many other shopping venues as well.

We were here for the Roma Pizza Expo so thankfully our room was paid for by not us. We took the shuttle to the River's Edge Convention Center for the Roma Social & were told we could be shuttled back if we called before 945p. We called at 915p, they said we had to wait until the last 945p shuttle at 1005p there was still no shuttle. We call the hotel again and they say that the shuttle had left and was headed to the Convention Center. At 1020p there was still no shuttle. We ended up having to call a cab that we could have called an hour earlier if the hotel could have been truthful. Plus I was 8 months pregnant sitting in the drizzle rain for an hour waiting to get back. Very DISGUSTED with this service or lack there of!!!

I am sorry the shuttle service did not meet your expectations when you stayed ar our hotel for your event. In checking the shuttle log for that evening, the hotel van was transporting guests to and from the Rivers Edge Convention Center as well as other businesses constantly through out that evening, for our many hotel guests. I am very sorry the driver failed to meet your pick up time and that you were forced to wait in the rain.

Please feel free to call me directly, if you choose, to further discuss your concerns.

I regularly stay at this hotel when I am on my way 'home' to visit my parents. It is easily accessible off of Highway 15, while cutting across the city from I-94 to MN Hwy 10. The rooms have always been clean and quiet, although I usually stay on a Wednesday or Thursday night. The staff has always been polite and very helpful, and check-in has never taken more than a few minutes-- which is much appreciated after a long flight and / or drive.
I'll continue to be a frequent visitor to this Holiday Inn location and recommend it to others looking for a good night's sleep.

Room Tip: Unfortunately, I was too tired to ask for a room anywhere but the first floor on my last visit. Alth...

This hotel is so far the best hotel I've stayed while visiting St. Cloud. It is older, however the pool area is great. There are so many activities available to keep your kids busy. It's one of those hotels where you can virtually let your kids run downstairs if you get a room poolside. They have plenty of things to do inside when the weather is too bad to do anything outside. There are arcades, pools, hot tubs, ping pong tables and just about anything you need to let a little one run out some energy during a stay at a hotel. I loved it because my kids played after a long drive to St. Cloud and they crashed hard from doing so much. We also ordered a pizza from the hotel. It was delicious! Room service was fast and they brought everything we needed. The restaurant is nice, the food was decent for breakfast and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely stay here again. The only thing lacking was the beds were not all that comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a poolside room if you have kids. If you don't have kids and need quiet, ask for a non-p...
