A trip to Val's is unlike anything most people expect. First, most people would drive by this tiny postage stamp-sized eatery thinking is it no longer in business...but, it is.
Here you must pick up your food between the hours of 11 AM and 7 PM daily. There is no breakfast, no drive-thru window nor any car-hops on roller skates.
You are on your own for ordering your food. When you enter this tiny little place, you enter your order into a touch-screen computer terminal. Here you will have the chance to pay by credit card or submit your order for cash payment at the time of pick-up. The printer will spit out your receipt and in due course, your number will be called and your order ready for take-out. There is no seating for dining in Val's.
Once your order is submitted, stand back and watch the action in Val.s micro kitchen. Usually there are four people working in the very small kitchen with none of them moving more than four feet. One person grills, one fries, another does shakes and one works the counter.
The menu is basic, assorted hot grilled hamburgers, chicken or shrimp burger, fries and shakes. That is it! But to keep in mind an order of shoestring fries will be just about enough to serve two adults.
The food is always fresh, flavorful and generous in size. Not to mention pretty good, too. Val's Rapid Service is worth the trip and is a downright hoot!
