“A perfect weekend getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

I've stayed at this Radisson many times, but it didn't seem as customer friendly as it was this past weekend.
Our room was clean with very comfy Sleep Number beds. The best part of our stay was our dining experience at Axel's. The steaks were tasty, the vegetables fresh and steamed to perfection. The staff very attentive and personable. Everyone was smiling and greeted us as we passed. It was just a welcoming, cheery place!

Stayed here 3 nights in mid-October 2011.
Not up to Radisson's usual standards, but clean and very comfortable "sleep number" bed and desk & chair in room with free wifi.
Noisy air conditioner.
Buffet breakfast at Axel's good value at $11 but not great food, limited choices and no drinks/juice selection; dismally slow service even when nearly empty. Dinner OK but unless you eat before 6pm to get happy hour specials not very good quality or value compared to restaurants at nearby Rosedale Mall.
Complimentary shuttle to businesses etc. (within 5 mile radius) very useful to get to malls as this area does not have a lot of local sights. Transit centre (buses) is 2 miles away at Rosedale mall. If you don't have a car, access to either of then twin cities by bus is slow and not exactly comfortable.
This hotel seems to cater to conferences & meetings etc. While we were there renovations were ongoing near the reception area.
Airport is about 17 miles away $50-65 by taxi, $50 by town car.
Service very variable.

I stayed here for three nights on business travel in August 2011. While I agree with other travellers that the room and lobby decor was a bit tired (note that they are in the midst of designing a new lobby), functionally the hotel had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Notably:
- Very comfortable beds, linens and piillows
- Enough space in the lobby and adjoining restaurant to conduct business meetings in several choices of atmosphere
- A gorgeous pool and hot tub area
- A fitness center with average number of equipment, but relatively high end
- Very good restaurant with good service
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Well situated to local area attractions and close to the highway
- Bottles of water supplied in the room.......thank you Radisson!

A final tip: If you find yourself staying here and enjoy Indian food, don't miss the Indian restaurant within walking distance up the street! It was a smash hit with myself and my colleagues....in fact we went back the next night.

Room Tip: There is a long walk from the elevators to the furthest rooms, so if you have any health or mobility...

Overall a good stay. Stayed here for the sleep number beds. My reservation was upgraded through eStandby to a non-sleep number room. I found this out after unpacking and getting in bed. They provided a coupon for room service for the mix-up. The room was nice, but there was an issue with the lights and hair-dryer in the bathroom. The lights would dim and brighten constantly, which caused the hair-dryer to not work correctly.

Spent two nights here in the same week but not consecutively - the staff were helpful and professional both times. We used the shuttle service to the state fair and it was a great feature of this hotel! The rooms were clean but definately not a "frills" establishment. The beds were sleep number and they were great! We ate the breakfast buffet during our second stay here and it was good and worth the money. I found getting to and from the interstate difficult...I had to use my GPS to find the hotel once I got off.... this was a big detractor for me! We were just using this hotel on our way to and from Minnesota so we mostly just slept and left both times.

My husband and I booked this hotel on an internet site at the last minute as our grandson was playing at the Schwann Tournament a day earlier than we expected.
The hotel is located just off a main freeway in an area composed mainly of industrial parks, inexpensive hotels, small retail stores and fast food restaurants.
The front lobby is designed in what I would describe as 1960s Soviet Union..clean and functional. What passes for the front desk are two small pulpit like structures. That being said, the check in was fast and efficient. Our request for a room far from the elevator (on the advice of a Trip Advisor review) was obliged without comment.
The room was miniscule...just enough space for one person to walk between the end of the bed and the small dresser. A 29" television so old that I was amazed that it actually worked graced the top of said dresser A small two seater sofa was wedged in at the end of the room under the window. The tiny bathroom had all the necessary fixtures...a shower with hot water but not too much water pressure, clean towels, and a sink and toilet...no money wasted on fancy decorating here. A queen bed with nice clean bedding and a great mattress was the highlight. Had a great sleep until the noise from some piece of heavy equipment woke me up after 8:30 p.m. No sounds from the freeway were apparent.
I would recommend this hotel if you were passing through the area on a long trip, arrived late in the evening, and were planning to resume your travels early the next morning.

Room Tip: Probably best to ask for a room on the side of the hotel away from the freeway and away from the ele...

Staying at the Radisson in Roseville Minnesota reminds me why I rarely stay at Radisson Hotels. This hotel is obviously a convert from the old Holiday Inns after the company decided to jettison tired, under-performing properties. Very little has been done to refurbish this hotel to bring it up to expectations .... except the room rate which I felt was too high (and we had a group rate).

On the plus side, the staff appeared reasonably well-trained and the rooms were clean. The old, loud window air-conditioners drowned out the any noises from the overly loud wedding receptions going on in the ballrooms. There isn't much competition in the area which might also account for the lack of urgency on the part of the owners to make this hotel a decent destination. As a business hotel it gets very low marks. They seem to cater to large groups. We had a number of soccer teams staying here and they were loud early in the morning and late at night, but they were mostly gone during the day.

This is the first hotel that I have rated this low. If the rates were more in line with the faciltiy my lowered expectations could have improved my feelings on this property. But at the Radisson Roseville MN you don't get what you pay for.
