“Nice property and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is in a perfect spot it you are going to the hospital or clinic. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The pool and hot tub area are VERY small. Three people max in the hot tub. The only thing I didn't care for were the dogs barking in other rooms. I wish that the hotel could find a corner of the hotel that guests with dogs could stay. When you have had surgery and want rest, dogs keeping you awake in a hotel room isn't what you need.

The housekeeper on 8th floor, Mary, is outstanding in all aspects of her guest relationships and duties. Every visit, which are frequent for me, she has provided excellent service. The front desk manager, Saha, is extremely efficient and friendly. I have always felt that they have respectfully and attentively provided for my needs.

We stayed here on recommendation from a friend. The location is great if you are going to Mayo Clinic, however, the service and upkeep at this hotel are subpar. We stayed in room 215 that had a mismatched door. The furniture and carpet were new, but the mattresses and bathroom facilities were ancient and not in good condition. I did not want to shower or sleep there. We switched hotels after the first night to the Hilton Garden.

We also had some issues with the front desk on our reservations. There are lots of nice hotels within walking range through the tunnel system to Mayo. I would not stay at this hotel again, as I would rather camp.

Dear VanillaSpice45,

Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to write a review about your most recent stay at the Kahler Inn & Suites. I appreciate your comments and will use them to better our efforts for a more positive experience.

I apologize you had a poor experience during your last stay. Our hotel went through a full renovation in 2011 including all new doors, mattresses and bedding. All of our mattresses are extra firm, but we do offer pillow top options to make our guests stay more comfortable. I'm sorry you had some issues with our front desk about your reservation. We try to accommodate all requests the best we can based on availability.

Thank you for your review and I do hope you stay with us again in the future so we can give you the true Kahler Inn & Suites experience.

Sincerely,
Chase Albrecht

For those visiting Mayo, Kahler Inn and Suites offers a very convenient location. The clinic can be accessed via the subway (underground walking tunnel) from the hotel. The suites are reasonably priced and the staff very friendly. The free breakfast is what one would expect
- cereals, bagels, donuts and a few hot items like scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and hashbrowns, Parking is free and in a underground garage within the hotel.

I was at the Kahler Inn & Suites due to my husband's extended stay at Mayo Hospital. My stay was made much more tolerable by the excellent service received from 2 employees in particular. Mary in Housekeeping on 8th floor and Michele in the Crossings Restaurant, Kudos to both of them!
My only complaint is that although the Kahler provides a free, hot breakfast every morning, it is EXACTLY the same every day. This is fine if only staying for a weekend, but after 6 weeks, it got pretty old.
Planning to go back in May for another week of appointments and have already booked our room here.

Room Tip: Suites are definitely worth the extra cost If you are going to be there for any extended period of t...

Great service by Mary on the eighth floor! Her concern for my comfort and the friendship of compassion she extended were greatly appreciated. I was experiencing a very stressful time and her hugs and words of encouragement were just what I needed.

Room Tip: Excellent location for Mayo Clinic.
