At least part of Guest House Inn is an older building. There were some stains on the carpet in our room. I noticed one area of peeling paint in the hallway. There were cobwebs outside the side door we entered. All of these things together gave me concern when we first arrived. However, the room with 2 queen size beds was large and, other than the spots in one square foot area of the carpet, appeared very clean and comfortable. 4 eating establishments are in close proximity. We used the shuttle to Mayo's and it was always full, but worked quite well and was comfortable.. The shuttle took no longer and was less trouble than if we had driven to the clinic and parked in a parking garage. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The motel was easy to find with a city map. We were always able to park near our entrance. Our room was on the first floor and we would have been able to get there with a wheelchair if we had needed to. The elevator was not working during the month of September. We did hear trains passing the first night, but other than that it was quiet in our room. Breakfast was cereals, breads, waffles, yogurt, fruit. Normal motel fare these days. This served us well when we had early appointments and little time to eat. When you have time to treat yourself, Perkins Restaurant is right across the street, There's not a lot of glamour, but this Inn served our purposes well for a reasonable price.
