We had a celebratory dinner at Pescara recently. The service was excellent, and the food on the whole quite delicious and beautifully presented.
The signature scallops with mushrooms were by far one of the most delicious meals I've had in years. The tuna tartar was delicious and a very large portion for an appetizer. The gazpacho was delicious, and as a gazpacho fanatic, I give 4 stars for taste.
The scottish salmon, however was very overcooked, surprisingly so, since Pescara specializes in seafood. The salmon, like most of the fish here was a "pick your own preparation" and "pick your own sauce". I chose char grilled with a parsley gremolata. Thankfully the waiter knew the gremolata would be scant and dry, and therefore suggested adding an additional butter sauce "on the side, just in case". He was right, it needed it! (Strange that they wouldnt just fix the gremolata to begin with- a bit more olive oil would've fixed that right up?) all in all, a pretty delicious meal, albeit extremely expensive.
but...I would eat there again in a minute and order the scallops!
