We spent one fabulous night at the Golden Lantern Inn in Red Wing, MN. Pat and Gary are excellent hosts. The house is rich in history and detail. Pat is very knowledgeable about things to see and do in the area, also. We were very happy to meet their dog, Kobe, too. He's a wonderful addition to the experience. The breakfast on the sun porch was delicious and the marshmallows roasted over the outdoor fireplace was very special. We treated ourselves with a trip to the Falconer Winery and listened to folk music played by Lehto & Wright. We also took a plane ride over the valley to see the fall colors...another treat (that was part of the 'Heavenly Package' included in the reservation). Pat made all the arrangements with the pilot and took care of the payment, too. The whole experience was one of pleasure and adventure. It was a weekend we'll remember for years to come. Thanks, Pat and Gary for everything!

“A "step back in time"...”

It felt as though we had stepped back in time...

Pat greeted us at the door, showed us around and made us feel very welcome.

Fresh, homemade cookies awaited us in our room, and there were snacks and a large selection of hot and cold beverages available to us as well as a refrigerator and microwave in the hallway for all guests to use.

The gardens are beautiful, We'd like to return in the summertime to see the flowers in full bloom, as our stay was in October. There's even an outdoor fireplace!

We'll happily recommend this B&B to family, friends, and anyone else looking for a nice getaway!

“A Perfect Experience”

The Golden Lantern is an exemplary establishment that will give you an experience to treasure. Pat is a gracious hostess making you feel extremely welcome, yet respecting the individual need for solitude and privacy – she has a special way of providing that perfect balance. The tudor home is absolutely breathtaking. It's not your stereotypical "foofy" B&B. The antiques and decor fit wonderfully with the architecture. The garden is beautiful, and although the B&B is nestled in the heart of city, you can easily lose yourself in the atmosphere of the house. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be recommending the Golden Lantern to all my friends and family!!! Thank you, Pat and Gary!!!! P.S. Gary is a phenomenal chef!!!!!

“personalilzed touches made all the difference”

The third floor "Hideaway" room was just that - a little get away from the busy world we live in. The king bed was very nice and the bedding very soft. There was a fireplace in the room, but in October we did not need it. The cookies upon arrival were delicious and the breakfast was really special. The gardens out back were so beautiful and Red Wing was a very nice quaint place to walk around and shop. The owners are really nice people who treat their patrons as friends who stay for the night.

Everything you could want in a B&B experience. Period furnishings were a step back in time. Room was quiet, cozy, clean and romantic. A delicious breakfast served in a beautiful garden room setting. And hosts that were warm, friendly and helpful. The outdoor fireplace and bedtime snacks were the perfect end to a beautiful summer night. We loved this place and will return again.
