“Pool unavailable”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Thursday, the pool was cold, the hot tub luke-warm. The pool-guy said he would heat it up for the week-end. From Friday through Sunday, the pool was over run with unsupervised children. Dive-bombing and pouring their cold drinking water into the hot tub. It was never available. The desk was unconcerned. Sunday, I was assured that we would be sent a voucher. Since, I have written twice and not received anything.

Mel37835, thank you for taking the time to review our property. I'm so sorry that you weren't able to enjoy our pool facilities during your visit. On cold winter weekends, we often have many families using our recreational facilities to relax and get out of the weather. I do hope you join us again,

We really liked this hotel - it has a rather large pool area with a big swimming pool and a large whirlpool. The breakfast was good with much assortment. The room was nice and clean and the kind bed was comfortable.

We stayed on Christmas night - and almost every business around the hotel was open. CVS, gas stations, numerous places to eat. There is also a restaurant connected to the hotel.

Very big hotel - looks like it used to be a big conference center - only about 12 miles? or so from downtown Minneapolis.

The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel was that the fitness center needs some new equipment. One treadmill did not work - the one that was working could not be turned up over 5.5 speed - so it was quite slow going.

I would stay again. Nice place to stay with a family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with feedback, SWMN87! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our pool area and complimentary breakfast are favorites of all of our guests and I'm happy that you liked them as well. You are spot on with your assumption that we are a conference center too! We have just over 4,000 square feet of versatile space for weddings, corporate events, banquets, family reunions...you name it and we've hosted it. In other good news, we just completed tune-ups on our fitness equipment and replaced one of our treadmills so you won't have any issues with them on your next visit. Thanks again for your review,

I stayed here two nights in June 2012 and was pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and the hotel was very quiet. The continental breakfast is better than the average and the people are very friendly and helpful. This location is great for a visit to the Twin Cities as it's within minutes of interstate access and close to popular restaurants.

This hotel is conveniently located for just about any place you want to get to in the Twin Cities. Close to 494, 394, and 694
So is the nearby Days Inn.
Wi-fi is deplorable - weak signal and not dependable.
I was extremely disappointed that the in-house restaurant, Axel's Bonfire, is gone. New one, Lucky's Pub, isn't open yet. Several restaurants are close by.
Furniture arrangement prevents watching large flat-screenTV from desk unless you pull desk out into room.
Room was clean and beds comfortable.
Pool has long hours.

Room Tip: Close to reception for stronger wi-fi might help.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel! Our goal is to provide every guest with an excellent experience but it doesn't sound like we hit all the right buttons for your stay. Our location, our kind staff, and our clean and comfortable rooms are three things we are very proud of...we are thrilled that you enjoyed those parts of your stay. I do apologize for any issues you encountered with our complimentary internet. Should you have issues in the future, please contact the front desk so they can help troubleshoot the problem. We were all sad to see Axel's Bonfire close earlier this summer, but Lucky's 13 Pub will be opening on November 12th, 2012! We are all very excited for this addition to our property and hope you get a chance to try them out the next time you are in town. Thank you again for your feedback.

We stayed two nights along with business associates. Rooms were neat. People were very friendly. Breakfast was very good - choice waffles, eggs, cereals (hot and cold), fruit, etc. Water pressure from shower was not as strong as I like it. And, they replaced our towels even though the sign in the bathroom says they won't if the towels are hung up. Either don't put up the sign or leave the towels alone. (That is one of my pet peeves with so many motels.)

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent stay with us. We work hard to present an outstanding product, but we are always trying to improve our quality to ensure guests have a great experience. Your concerns regarding our water pressure and follow through with our green efforts have been heard and are very much appreciated. Without feedback from our guests, we wouldn't know what needs changing! We are happy to hear you had a great stay with us and were able to enjoy many of the great amenities our hotel has to offer. We hope to see you again the next time you are in town!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

Stayed here in May of 2012 for 1 night.
Room was clean overall. Only issue I saw was a big gap between the floor and the wall. It was comfortable though.
They had a really good breakfast. Had everything that one would need. Attendant did a nice job keeping it stocked.

There is a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Food is good and the atmosphere is fun. I would recomend that to visitors. Also, not sure if I missed it but could not find an elevator to the 2nd floor.
I would stay here again if needed.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel! We try our hardest to keep our property in tip top condition and we're glad that you noticed. Our breakfast is a favorite of our guests and we are currently expanding our offerings. The attached restaurant, Axel's Bonfire, has closed for renovations but will open again as a new concept this fall! Thanks again for your review and we hope to see you again soon.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times in 2012 and have not had any issues. The hotel is well located for access and the hotel personnel have always been friendly and efficient. it is a large hotel and the walk to breakfast can be long one. Overall the hotel is well maintained, though it starting to show its age a little. The rooms are nice but the feel is average. The bathrooms were clean, and the included microwave/refrigerator are nice features. The free internet has been good, but appeared to sluggish at times. During my most recent stay a severe storm passed in the early hours knocking power out to the hotel and surrounding area. Hotel management provided a 15% discount for the next stay due to an inconvenience out of their control. This is the sort of customer service that I like to support.

Room Tip: The hotel is located away from noisy roads. The second floor doesn't have elevator access. The o...

Thank you for your review! I am glad that you have enjoyed your stays with us. Our central location works as a great starting point for most activities in the metro area and our guest rooms and common areas are all recently refreshed for your enjoyment! The power outage you mentioned was an inconvenience for everyone in the neighborhood and we are just glad it didn't ruin your stay with us. Thanks again for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit!
