“A Great Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Dine like a local. When you are in the lakes area for fishing, golfing or the weekly turtle races, this is the perfect place for a country breakfast or lunch.

“Would Help if the Servers were nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Breakfast was average, but the servers were not nice, finally took our order when they were done talking to each other. Then once served the only time the server came back to our table was to drop the check off. Had to ask a different server to fill the coffee and drinks. That took some waving to even get her over to the table. We was there with family that lived 8 miles from Perham and had ate there many times before. They said there favorite server wasn't working that day.

“Only average, not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

While there was nothing horribly wrong with this restaurant, it was far from great in any aspect. In fact, I was torn between reviewing it as poor or average...

The decor was clean, but outdated. Before you think that's typical of a diner and I'm not being fair, let me tell you it lacked any charm or spunk that many diners have. The staff wasn't fast, or slow. Service was average. The menu offerings were what you would expect of a typical diner, but the prices ran higher than average. What really surprised us was that it was a $2.00 upcharge for fries with any meal. That's usually something you don't see unless you are at moderate to higher-end restaurant.

The food was okay. It was edible but not flavorful. It wasn't over or under-cooked, and it didn't taste bad, but it didn't taste that good either. We had a club sandwich and a buffalo burger. Before ordering my husband asked the waitress what they were "known for." She looked at him as if he was an alien. Trying to help her out, I asked her what people typically ordered there, or what they sold the most of. She stood stumped for a minute, and then grabbed the menu and started naming about half of it off to us.

We made a point of stopped in Perham to eat at the Lakes Cafe based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, and while it wasn't horrible, I would not recommend anyone else go out of their way to stop here for this restaurant. If you stop in Perham, stop for coffee at Cafe De La Fleur. That is the kind of place worth stopping for!

“Truely small town cafe.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

I've eaten here many times and when I want service, good quality food and good prices I always come here. What a great menu for a small town cafe. The service is the best around. The food is always great and the prices are low. Hamburgers off the grill, hot beefs with potatoes, pie and ice cream and a good cup of coffee are my normal favorites here. Good location right downtown Perham. Always friendly and fun. Highly recommend to locals and those traveling through. Bring the kids too. I notice they have a good kids menu also.

“Excellent food, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

This is a small town cafe that has been around as long as I can remember. My wife and three kids stopped in for lunch when passing through Perham. It was great. The food came faster than I could imagine. The portions were very good sized and the meals were delicious. The waitress was on top of everything and super friendly. The homemade pies we ate for desert were also fantastic.
