There are only two places to stay in Morris, and this one would be my second choice, but it's the only one that accepts pets, so unless we want our hunting dogs to freeze in the winter, we have to stay here. It's also got a decent size pool, although the pebbling around the deck is starting to come off, which leaves little rocks in the pool. Also, the pool is kept very warm, almost too much. There is a black ring around the pool at the water line, it seems like the pool gets a lot of use from locals as well, there is a sign up about paying $5 to just use the pool. The rooms are definitely d, nonsmoking in the lowers level and smoking/pet rooms on the second. The rooms on the first floor are definitely a bit nicer (I'm using that term loosely!) than the second floor rooms. This trip we stayed in a nonsmoking room and the sink leaked, so we used our ice bucket to catch the water, the sink counter had a huge chip in it, and the bathroom was dirty (tub was black with lint in it and dirt in corners). The sheets on the bed are incredibly thin and they use a flat sheet in place of a fitted sheet, so when you wake up in the morning you're lucky if you're not laying directly on the mattress. It's incredibly overpriced for this area ($98/night!!) and the staff are just mildly interested in helping you out, not even a hello at check in. The only reason this place gets a three is because of the location. I wish AmericInn or Hampton or Holiday Inn Express would expand into this market; with the college here you'd think there would be enough of a need. This place has seen the last of me. Also, the side door says that you need a key card to enter, but that's disabled and it's left open 24/7. It's been like that for at least a year now.
