“No problems...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2006

We stayed 2 nights for the purpose of breaking up our trip to Minneapolis Airport to pick up our son and returning home to Wpg. Suite was clean and offered extras like iron/ironing board, m/w, fridge, etc. Heavy air freshner air on entry to room but opening the window cleared that. Definitely this place is close to a very busy train track but closing the window and running the fan covered sound and we slept well. Sofa bed mattress definitely has seen a better day! King was okay. Breakfast adequate and friendly staff refilled on request BUT coffee really sucks (brown water!) Had quite a time finding good coffee until discovery of a Starbucks in Fargo..will only travel with my own coffee grounds and filters next time. Did not use pool.. smelled like too much chlorine... but lots of kids used it. So all in all ...nothing wrong with the place for what we needed it for.

This hotel exceeded all of my expectatoins tenfold. We were in the Fargo-Moorhead area mid-May 2005 for a wedding and were directed to stay at this hotel by the groom as there was a wedding discount arranged for all the guests.

Immediately when we walked into the hotel I was astonished that a Travelodge could be so nice. It looked more like a country inn than a Travelodge. The friendly guy at the front desk told us that they were recently awarded Travelodge of the year. We were a bit annoyed that we couldn't have a ground floor room (due to lack of availability) but were happy to hear that they had an elevator.

The room we had was a "King Suite" and had a King sized bed (very comfy) and a living room area with a couch that folded out into the bed (not so comfy.) The room also had a mic/fridge and 2 tvs which worked out great when the kids wanted to play video games.

The hard working staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered -
We needed some milk for our 2 month old baby and the guy at the desk allowed us to go into the breakfast area to get milk. The milk machine was empty so he changed it for us (which looked like a grueling task) so that we would have milk which was way beyond expectations for me. I asked him for directions to the church while he was doing this and he went in the back to grab a map to give me complete directions - he was so accomodating!

During the night there was a bit of train noise(as posted earlier) but neither I nor my wife were affected by this as it wasnt nearly as bad as the earlier post stated. it was as if a plane was flying overhead.

Finally breakfast in the morning was amazing. It was a continental brekfast but had EVERYTHING you could possibly have in a continental breakfast: bagels, muffins, cold/hot cereals of all sorts, Milk, apple juice, orange juice, and they even had 2 waffle machines in which you poured their freshly made battter into an iron. FRESH WAFFLES at a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST at a TRAVELODGE!!! It was all delicious!

Hands down this is THE best travelodge in the country.

A decent rate, Great staff, nice pool/whirlpool, clean/big comfortable rooms, and a great breakfast make this place an A++++++++ Stay!

As soon as we walked through the front door we felt so at home and thought this place was so much better than where we stayed the nnight before and for less money.

The guy at the front desk was really friendly.

The pool was huge and nnice whirlpool and you could take floating toys in with you.

the games room was great too.

the rooms were very very nice and the bathroom was exceptionally clean and nice looking.

The shower pressure was fine.

The only thing is that it is in a poor location beside a very very busy railroad track. - a train every 20 minutes. Wasn't bad during the night and didn't really hear the trians as the hotel was pretty soundproof.

One of the beds had dirty sheets but the front desk guy came and changed the bed right away.,

This is a very family oriented hotel and right across the stree tfrom the Big K. target is right beside and Perkins is almost attached.

I would stay there again!

We were in Moorhead the weekend of Oct 23 for a wedding and reserved a room a the Travelodge. The reason we went with this hotel was because they allowed pets. Although if you wanted to bring you pet into the room you have to stay in a smoking room, which was fine.

Positives:
Room was very clean, spacious. Breakfast in the morning was nice.

Negitives:
Shower has NO pressure. Felt like I was taking a shower underneath a flower watering devise. Railroad tracks are located less then 50 feet from the hotel, so every 20 minutes or so we were woken up by a train rolling through town. In the morning hours we could hear doors opening and closing constantly. We also had good stompers above us that were so load, and stomping so hard our head board on the bed was rattling, and a picture was knocked off the wall. We called the room and told them to "Shut Up", and quit jumping, apparently some stupid parents left their kids with the granparents to take care of for the night, and they stayed in there own room. Sorry 6 kids in one room is being very cheap.

We did get a 60% discount because of the well behaved family above us. They I believe were asked to leave.
