“Poor Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

If you want friendly, helpful service, comfortable beds, a toilet that doesn't tip every time you use it, and a shower that doesn't feel like a fire hose blasting at you DO NOT stay at this place. The customer service was horrendous and the little twit at the counter was rude and arrogant! I would shout it from the roof tops if I could! Oh and one more thing, no dinner at the resteraunt because they had no chef! Can you believe it? No chef! Wow.

Room Tip: Do not stay here!

I ended up with an extra charge on my credit card that was not approved. The rooms were not ready at check in. My room and bathroom area were dirty, the hallways smelled. Television very out of date and small. Not enough staff on dates stayed.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

We planned a trip to shop at the outlet mall and looked for a motel close. The location and value of Riverside was excellent compared to other motels in the area. It was almost a small town feel. Thanks

The regular rooms are tiny no room to move. The beds are ok but that's about it. The T.V.'s are old and barely work and have no channels. The internet is EXTREMELY SLOW! It's clean and the suites are bigger but still terrible TV's and same internet.

Thank you for your feedback. We just installed new commercial routers to better handle the internet traffic. We are also in the process of adding more television stations.

Thanks Again, Ed

Riverwood Inn is by far a favorite of mine when traveling to the Minneapolis area, I generally stay near MOA, howver needed to stay near my daughter this visit. This Inn will take you back to a time when great service was valued above all else. The General Manager Ed truly cares about each guest and their experience while visiting their Inn, this is not a hotel, motel or resort, all of those places are too commercialized. If you want clean, quiet relaxation then look no farther. At Riverwood you are welcomed as though visiting an old friend.
Thank you Ed for taking the business out of our stay and making us feel truly at home and welcomed, your staff reflects the excellent standards you set. Riverwood is beautiful.

I'm a classical guitarist, living in Chicago, and my duet partner lives in Otsego MN with his 5 kids so I come to Minneapolis several times a year to rehearse. I try to stay in motels close to Otsego so he isn't far from home. I've stayed at several in the area and this is by far the best. Once you get past the well water which to me is no big deal, the hotel is charming and cozy. I was there in early March when there was still a foot of snow on the ground, and the woodsy setting was magical. Ed, the manager, was on top of his game especially on a night when every room was booked. I was so Impressed with the Inn I was already making plans in my head to return with my wife for a vacation there. I didn't go down to the river, so a visit in the summer or Fall is definitely in my plans. Riverwood Inn is a very comfortable hotel that looks out on beautiful woods instead of a Taco Bell or a barren parking lot. The Tiffany stained glass throuout the hotel from F Scott Fitzgeralds home in Sant Paul is a must to see. And the warm inviting fireplace in the lobby, especially on a cold March day, was very inviting.

Room Tip: Get a GPS or you'll drive right past it.
