“Absolutely Fabulous!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

For our 15th wedding anniversary I wanted to give my wife an experience that communicated with clarity how much she is valued, appreciated & loved. Hotel Ivy blew away my hopes & expectations in every way imaginable! The food at Porter & Frye's starting us off - just spectacular. At the suggestion of a hotel employee I enlisted the assistance of the concierge for some flowers in the room. By the time we opened the door we were greeted to rose petals covering the floor leading to a simply exquisite bouquet of red roses, completely with a card addressed to my wife from me, tho I had forgotten this detail! The waiting bubbly on ice started our afternoon off right :)

The bed - fabulous. The bathroom - magnificent. The amenities - unforgettable. She spent the afternoon at the Ivy spa delighting in hydrotherapy and who-knows-what but she was one happy camper. I took advantage of the very impressive fitness room, spending 90 minutes there until our dinner reservations forced me to head to the showers.

Best of all? The staff! Hands down. They pulled out all the stops moving heaven & earth to make our anniversary one to remember and they totally succeeded. I've heard current & former heads-of-state stay here and now I know why! And all of this for an incredibly reasonable price.

Nicely done Hotel Ivy!!!

“A great hotel in the heart of Minneapolis!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

On a recent business trip, my agency booked me in to stay at the Hotel Ivy. Based on the price of the hotel that I paid, I expected a pretty decent experience and I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are large (despite a strange layout of the TV/Closet/Desk being in the middle of the room making a quasi-hallway between the bed and the bathroom. The service by the staff is exceptional.

Although I didn't have a ton of time to wander around the city, the hotel strikes me as being perfectly located and nearby a ton of attractions as well as being nearby many of the HQs and office buildings in the area.

The staff on hand were great - always willing to say hello and always making sure I knew where I was going and checking to see if I needed anything. They were also able to facilitate me checking in VERY early (11am) which was due to an unscheduled change in my flight getting in to MSP.

The bed was spectacular - a great sleep!

The only issue I had was at check-in when I was assigned a room that appeared to be either occupied or awaiting cleaning (When I opened the door, I didn't go in seeing that things were not as expected). However, this was addressed quickly and efficiently. I did notice even in my "clean" room that there was dust bunnies in the corners and the bathroom should have had a better going over.

Nevertheless, as far as hotels go... this one delivered.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor and further away from the elevator - noise seems to travel. Also, they ac...

“Great hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

For my first visit back to Minneapolis since moving back to Iowa, I decided to splurge a little bit on our hotel and after much debate, finally settled on the Ivy. Now I can't imagine that I'll ever stay anywhere else when I visit.

Location was a key factor, and Hotel Ivy is conveniently located on the southwest side of downtown, still within walking distance of everything and super easy to get to from 35W. There are plenty of parking ramps and surface lots nearby, but to further simplify things I went with the valet package, which offers unlimited in-and-out privileges during your stay.

The room was on the smallish side but very nice, and the bed was plush and ultra comfy. The bathroom was spectacular - I fell in love with the shower. Sadly, time did not allow for me to soak in the deep tub.

Wi-Fi was something like $10 per device per day. No thank you.

If you're a Foursquare user, be sure to check in as it entitles you to a free drink at Porter & Frye.

“Great staff, great rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Rooms are large and very nice, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The beds are comfortable, the restaurant was fairly priced with exceptionally quick service and great food. I was in Minneapolis for the football and found the hotel to be very convenient to the Metrodome- it was less than $10 in a cab and took about 20 minutes to walk back (slowly) in the snow.
I stayed for only two nights on a very quick weekend trip, and would happily stay again.

“Amazing place to stay in Minneapolis”

What a delightful stay in the Hotel Ivy - extremely well run and modern hotel with a great bar staff and front desk staff. This is our new place to stay when visiting Minneapolis. I can't imagine a better place.
